Full Staff Meeting April 5, 2016Opening, News & Updates- Linda Darden, President/CEOWelcome extended to New Hires & Interns.Anniversary Announcements made & gratitude extended for their service.Reflection Moment- Wale Abe, ChaplainRosemary Niles provided music for remembrance of the patients we served in February & March.Hospice Memorial Services- Chris Dellinger, Bereavement Team LeaderDates & Locations for Memorial Services provided. Encouragement for staff to attend extended.Hope Run- Carolyn Breese, Director of DevelopmentThe Hope Run will take place on Saturday, April 16th.We have increased donation totals compared to this time last year, however, we are down in those who have signed up (c. -300 compared to this time last year) / Participants = Donations.KBR Updates- Anita Ford, Interim DON / VP of Clinical ServicesThe search continues for the Director of Nursing PositionKasey Wilkie has been named in the new position of Inpatient Services Manager to work in correlation with the DONThe title of Unit Clerk has replaced the previous title of Sec Tech.Recycling Bins have been added to KBR to reduce cost/waste.New Flooring & Carpet installation has been completed.KBR Superheroes – Team Name for Hope Run headed by ‘Captain’ Dr. Mark Corbett & ‘Amazing’ Dr. Allison Jordan.Benefits & Wellness Update- Kristine Elliott, VP of HR (filling in for Shelly Beard)Hope Run Warm-Up will be Wednesday, April 6th. Intuitive Awareness 101 – Friday, May 6th ECC at 8:30am.Mobile Breast Mammography – May 10th on Winston-Salem campus – sign up w/ DeAnna in HR.The Produce Box – Delivery service of Fresh Produce offered, samples offered after meeting.Nutrition In-Service (Nutrition Myths) – Friday, May 26th - ECC 8:30am.Health Insurance Renewal- Kristine Elliott, VP of Human ResourcesOrganizational Goal – Provide Employee Peace of Mind by continuing to offer Affordability, Quality Providers, & Plan Choices for your health.Because of a 36% increase quoted for the continued plan, MedCost will replace Blue Cross Blue Shield on June 1st.Every employee will need to attend one of the Renewal Meetings offered for information on the new options.The Deadline after attending one of these Renewal Meetings is April 27th. Dates/Locations are posted on the HUB.Campus Security- Dianne Linville, Quality & Compliance OfficerA High Point company has been contracted to provide security advice and training for usWe have added a plan for an “Active Shooter” on campus to our Disaster Plan.A ‘Workplace Violence Prevention Plan Policy’ has been created.The High Point consulting company ranked us in the top 95% of agencies that they work with on providing workplace safety. They have also reviewed & approved the new plans and policies we are putting in place.Training for all staff will be provided (May dates TBD)Current vetting different optionsfor communication systems for alerting/informing staff for potential issues.Safety Data Sheets- Dianne Linville, Quality & Compliance OfficerWe are required to have the information available, but have chosen top place it on the HUB to reduce time & paper waste: information for the Safety Data Sheets will be located on the HUB under the HR tab (Safety Corner) & a paper copy is located with the Infection Control NurseHPCC Through the Eyes of a Social Work Intern- Debbie Furr, Intern, Social WorkThrough her studies at UNC Chapel Hill, she met Kelley Ryan during a presentation in her class and decided she would like to pursue an internship at Hospice & Palliative CareCenter. During her internship, she valued her experiences and presented Hospice & Palliative CareCenter a wind sculpture in dedication and in appreciation for all HPCC Social Workers.
