Innovation: ENEA-IEG agreement for circular economy, energy and sustainable mobility

Focus on the next Ecomondo expo at Rimini from 5th to 8th November

Roma, 12th September 2019 - The presidents of the ENEA, Federico Testa, and Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), Lorenzo Cagnoni, have signed a three-year agreement collaboration for the circular economy, renewable sources, sustainable mobility and smart cities and other sectors of interest. In particular, ENEA will provide support to IEG in establishing innovative technical contents, transfer of innovation and promotion of sustainability issues, as well as professional training and updating for the industries, PME and trade members and information and communication activities.

ENEA President Federico Testa stated, “This agreement forms part the context of our mission as Italy’s national agency for new technology, energy and sustainable economic development, supporting the national manufacturing system, public administration, and territories to strengthen competitiveness and growth. As ENEA, we can give a great contribution with solutions, services, best practices and strategies for technological innovation, with particular reference to the green & circular economy, sustainable mobility and renewable sources, in line with the European strategy for sustainable economic development.”

IEG President Lorenzo Cagnoni said, “The agreement renews and expands the previous agreement in the context of Ecomondo - Key Energy, the key international platform for enterprises and industry/trade members in the environment, energy and energy efficiency sectors. In particular, the collaboration will regard the next edition of Ecomondo, which is being held from 5th to 8th November at Rimini expo centre. Ecomondo is the leading European expo for the circular economy, an innovation incubator for enterprises addressing the new business model. The entire expo centre is sold out for the 2019 edition: 1,300 exhibitors from 30 counties and visitors from 150 nations are awaited; 150 seminars are scheduled with 1,000 speakers. Key Energy, for the world of renewable energies, and the Sal.Ve. Waste Vehicle Expo will be held simultaneously with Ecomondo.”

For the occasion, ENEA will put its Knowledge Exchange Officer (KEO) at the events’ attendees’ disposal. They are researchers specialized in the transfer of innovative solution to enterprises and ENEA will present the services foreseen by the Knowledge Exchange Program developed in collaboration with CNA, Confapi, Confartigianato, Confindustria and Unioncamere.
