Accounting and Finance Online Degree ProcessStudent interested in the 100% Online Accounting and Finance Degree contacts Mr. Creech (escreech@johnstoncc.edu or 919-209-2541) for information prior to applying. Mr. Creech is the contact person throughout this process.Student applies online to Residency Determination Service and to Accounting and Finance degree at . Student submits transcripts to Admissions.Student takes placement test at an institution close to their home. If they place into ENG 111 and MAT 110, they are eligible for 100% online program. Contact Mr. Creech to arrange remote voucher for testing.Qualified student completes counselor interview with Student Services Counselor Thomas Dean over the phone. Student will receive a welcome letter from Mr. Creech outlining the terms of the online program. Student must sign and return electronically. If more than 10 students have applied, student will be placed on the wait list and encouraged to go to regular in-person advising at the appropriate time if they have not been moved into the program by that time. Student submits e-advising form online at least three days prior to the registration period, which is reviewed by Mr. Creech.Upon approval of class choices, student receives registration priority for the first two days of registration. Student registers for the classes in the pathway. Student orders books online through the bookstore. There is an estimated $6.99 cost to the student for the books to be shipped to their home.Student successfully passes online classes. Failure or dropping a class will remove student from online cohort though they can still continue to take classes at JCC. The accounting program classes can be completed online, but students who are not in the cohort have regular registration priority. Student repeats e-advising, registration, book purchase, and successful progress in classes for four or five (if they take summer classes) semesters.Student emails Mr. Scott the application to graduate within the first ten days of their second Spring semester.Student graduates with AAS in Accounting and Finance. ................
