COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS IS LOOKING FOR NEW CIVIL ENGINEERING ASSISTANTS.

Selection Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college (graduation date no later than June 2006) with specialization in a civil engineering curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology -OR- graduation from an accredited college in the State of California with specialization in Civil Engineering.

STARTING SALARY: $50,376 - $59,280 (with Bachelor's Degree) *

$53,184 - $59,280 (with Master's Degree) *

* Salary to change in October 2005 per COLA.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under close supervision, assists in the performance of detailed civil engineering work related to the design, location, construction, and maintenance of public works structures, facilities, or projects.

Positions allocable to this entry level professional civil engineering class are characterized by assignments involving the application of the principles of civil engineering, normally acquired by completion of a formal four-year college curriculum in civil engineering, to the practical problems encountered in the execution of engineering assignments.
