Final Exam for English 101 – Reflection
Final Exam for English 101
Semester Reflection
This semester, English 101 students completed 4 essays where they chose and completed their topics by interpreting the assignment based on their own ideas, experiences, or research. In addition, students read several essays from their textbook One World, Many Cultures, Mawi Asgedom’s novel, Of Beetles and Angels, and other readings posted on the website. Lastly, students attended the Carolivia Herron presentation, and/or The Hunger Banquet.
For the Final Exam, students are to reflect on this semester and all the work they have completed. Using examples from their own essays, the assigned readings, research, class lectures, and the presentation(s), students will thoroughly assess their new learning and acquired knowledge by relating their learning to their past, present, or future as college students, career professionals, local/national/global citizens, and, finally, on a personal level.
Students may bring copies of their essays and their textbooks to help them complete the exam. A brief pre-prepared outline will be allowed (short bullets for reminders – no prewritten sentences), but if used, it must be turned in with the final exam. The written final exam must be composed in writing during the final exam period.
