4. Position the chart on the screen so that as many characters as possible are visible, then select Annotation Mode (the screen with the speech bubble)- a larger floating toolbar will appear

5. Then select Window Mode (the screen with yellow pencil) on the floating toolbar- the InterACT software will open up in Window Mode capturing the Learn Japanese Language screen

6. Select Camera – another window will appear- select the first icon called Capture section- then a cross will appear

7. Capture each character (with or without English sound below) by dragging the cross over the character and /or sound to be captured. When you are happy with your selection, click the mouse. You will notice that this captured section is now overlayed on top of the main character chart.

8. Click on the “Select Object” arrow from the top toolbar (or bottom of the screen- depending where you have placed it), then click on the section captured by the camera- a blue box will appear around the captured section

9. Open Resource folder tab at the side of the window- click on Guest

10. Click on down arrow and then on Add category- then enter the name you want to call this selection of characters such as Hiragana

11. Move the character selected in Step 8 to a clear part of the window and select the down arrow in the upper right corner of the blue box and select

Add to gallery

12. The character will now appear in the above folder of the Resource tab you have named and can be used at any time by dragging it to the open Window Mode page. It can be made smaller or larger to suit your needs. Click on the “Select Object” arrow from the top/bottom toolbar ( depending where you have placed it), select the character and a blue box will appear around the captured section. Click on the white dot in the bottom right corner and drag it to make it larger or smaller

13. If you click on the character when it is in the Resource tab, you can change the caption by clicking on the down arrow and edit caption to suit your needs.

14. Repeat this process until all the characters originally captured in Step 4 have been added to your folder on the Resource tab.

15. To capture the rest of the characters on the chart, select Control Mode on the toolbar. This will take you back to the Learn Japanese Language Internet site.

16. Reposition the chart on the screen so that you can capture the remaining characters, then select Annotation Mode and repeat the steps from 5 to 12.

This same method can be used for capturing any photos or illustrations from other sources and storing them in the selected folders of the Resource tab
