Day 5: Writing a short information text Write a short information text about weather Write a short information text consisting of three paragraphs about one of the weather topics below. Choose from the following topics: ? Hurricanes ? Tornadoes ? Dust storms ? Hail ? Freezing rain ? Snow ? Clouds Requirements:
a) Choose an interesting title for your information text. b) Ensure that you use paragraphs with subheadings. Your questions will help
you come up with suitable subheadings. c) Ensure that the opening sentence of each paragraph is a topic sentence. d) Include visual material, such as an image, map and/or a chart. Procedure: a) Research your topic to find out more information. b) Using your research, answer the questions on the topic you have chosen. c) Follow the writing process:
a. Plan what you are going to say. b. Write a first draft and ask someone at home to check your answers.
