The Enneagram is a personality inventory based on Jungian personality theory. The questions which follow are designed to help you place yourself within the Enneagram.
Select one set from each group:
Group 1—Relation to the World
1. “I am bigger than the World”
• Seek within yourself
• May use or share or hold good
• Happiness comes from within
2. “I must adjust to the World”
• Seek to keep the peace
• Conform to life’s demands
• Happiness is at hand
3. “I am smaller than the World”
• Real life is centered outside me
• Search or seek for something more
• Happiness is coming
Group 2—Preferred Action
1. “Moving-Against”
• High energy in behavior
• Assertive
• Relationships are work
2. “Moving-Towards”
• Fulfillment comes from others
• Relationships open & wanted
• May be dependent in relation
3. “Moving-Away”
• Protect sense of fulfillment
• Relationship marked by distance
• Can be defensive or detached
These two sets of preferences can be combined into nine combinations (“types”). The nine types are interrelated in a complex fashion, depending on whether one feels particularly secure or stressful.
