Drives modernisation of the architecture. Is accountable for the design of the data and integration environment and platformsRole of Work UnitService Strategy and Investment is responsible for developing and maintaining the strategy, enterprise IT architecture, standards and investment lifecycle of assets in the ICT services portfolio aligned to achievement of business objectives. Reporting RelationshipsThis position reports to: Head of Service Strategy and Investment, Level 8Direct reports to this position include: NilTotal number of positions under control: Nil Key Accountabilities IT PlanningContributes to, and as required undertakes the development of IT strategy and IT blueprints, including the capability to plan, management change and improve performance.Contributes to, and as required undertakes, /informs and maintains the IT portfolio investment plan and associated business cases for IT investment.Contribute to the establishment, maintenance and improvement of architecture governance in context to data and integration.Integration ArchitectureApplies enterprise and related systems integration architectures and methods for the interoperability of internal and external ICT systems including message-oriented middleware (MOM), service-oriented architecture (SOA), enterprise service bus (ESB), and representative state transfer (REST).Shapes and leads the strategic architecture direction of the agencies systems integration platform(s)?Develops and maintains current and target state viewpoints, views and models of the strategic information systems integration environment.Works with key stakeholders at all levels to develop systems integration reference architectures and roadmaps for how related IT investments best support the overall current and future business priorities. A specific focus is applied to the creation, review and assurance of common systems integration deliverables such as service design principles, patterns and contracts, service design specifications, and the update/maintenance of the common information model and XSD schemas.Data Architecture3.1 Develops and maintains current and target state data architecture viewpoints and views of data assets.3.2 Performs a management and advice role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modelling, data access, data integration, data visualisation, text mining, data discovery, statistical methods, database design and implementation.3.3 Defines, contributes to, and maintains the strategy roadmap for the enterprise including data modelling, implementation and data management for WA Police’s enterprise data warehouse and advanced data analytics systems. 3.4 Documents data assets and support effective and efficient delivery of core business capabilities 3.5Defines the types and sources of data needs to support frontline service delivery in a way that can be understood by stakeholders.3.6Identifies strategic and tactical opportunities for change to increase the value of data holdings for frontline processes and decision making.3.7Develops and maintains blueprint(s) for data storage, document, knowledge and information management, warehousing and analytical services.3.8Develops and maintains the Enterprise Information Model (EIM) and Common Information Model (CIM).3.9Develops and maintains maps of data assets within core business systems and shared between/across these systems.OtherUnderstands and complies with information security policies and procedures to ensure information holdings/systems are kept confidential and utilised accurately and reliably. 4.2Undertakes other duties as directed.Specialist Prerequisite(s)It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position.Work Related RequirementsEssentialContext in which work related requirements will be applied and or general standard expected. Including, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Event Driven Architecture (EDA), Microservices, ESB, SOAP, REST, APIs, XML, JSON, etc. Working collaboratively to develop current and target state systems integration architectures and related capabilities to business municationPresenting complex concepts and reporting to senior management and portfolio clients. Negotiating with stakeholders internally and externally. Representing the Agency on committees and working parties. Understanding business outcomes and stakeholder needs and using technology to deliver business outcomes.TOGAF certificationThe WA Police EA function uses TOGAF as a foundation to its EA practice of which data and integration architecture is a part thereof.
