Why Teach English Abroad?

English is everywhere. It is the language of globalization of international business, politics, and diplomacy. It is the language of computers and the internet. You'll see it on posters in Beijing, you'll hear it in pop songs in Tokyo, and you'll read it in official documents in Prague. Deutsche Welle broadcasts in it. Scandinavian bands sing in it. French business schools teach in it.

English is now the global language.

Whether you are still in school, have just graduated or are looking for a change, teaching English abroad allows you to:

Travel extensively to exotic locations Experience an exciting, in-demand job Save considerable amounts of money Immerse yourself in new cultures Gain valuable life and career experience

Armed with our internationally-recognized TESOL/TESL/TEFL certificate, Oxford Seminars graduates have found teaching jobs around the world.

My instructor was great, always willing to assist and answer any questions.

This course pushes your knowledge far beyond what you may have

studied previously.

What is the difference between TESOL, TESL, and TEFL? They are interchangeable terms that essentially mean the same thing.

TESOL = Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages TESL = Teaching English as a Second Language TEFL = Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Certain acronyms will be more common depending on where you will be teaching.

This is a great course. Any concerns you might have about teaching and living overseas are well addressed and explained.

Asia is the largest ESL market in the world. English teachers are in high demand, with many positions available for both new and experienced teachers. Large markets like China and Korea are great for first time teachers, as many positions do not require previous teaching experience.

Western Europe continues to be near the top of the wish list for many ESL teachers, despite the challenges in securing a work visa for non-EU citizens. Various opportunities do exist to overcome this hurdle, such as cultural exchanges and work/study programs.
