DVD only partially plays. Book in good condition

This is an Italian textbook for people whose first language is English. So it starts you off with the grammar, usage and pronunciation that English-speakers most often get wrong. It w2as $90 at the

PSU bookstore, but well under $50 through .This book and "Italian for Dummies" complement each other. Buy them both!

I use this book in my classes of Italian language at UNM-CE. It's an amazing way of teaching/learning the language by emphasizing the skills of interaction and have fun at the same time; grammar comes as a game that value the students intelligence to build it along with the teacher. The website that accompanies the textbook is helpful as some students prefer to work/learn/play online. The textbook (and workbook) are great tools for the students who prefer to stay with paper and handwriting.New Italian Espresso is a book that ignites the curiosity of the students and their active engagement to learn in a cooperative and collaborative way. I feel very comfortable working with this book in the classroom as it helps to understand that learning a language is deeply linked with interaction.

It is not a book for self-study as it assumes many concepts are known already or should be explained by the teacher. The grammar should be more detailed and with more examples. This new edition is better than the older because of the DVD but not much else added.

Using this for Italian class. Not a big fan of the way the course flows but a decent beginning. I really would have preferred that the book be on Kindle.
