When we write about a place we use sentences such as:
THERE VERB WHAT? WHERE?
There is a camel market in Al Ain.
There are many malls in Dubai.
Note: ‘is / are’ come from the verb ‘to be’.
‘is’ is used for singular nouns (e.g. There is a camel market [1] )
‘are’ is used for plural nouns (e.g. There are many malls. [more than 1 mall] )
