Position Title ? Accounts Payable Clerk/Bookkeeper
Reports to ? Custodian of Funds or Chief Financial Officer
Salary ? Etowah County Board of Education Salary Schedule
Required Education and Experience ? As determined by LEA
Duties/Responsibilities ? Keying all purchase orders for maintenance of school plant Keying of all purchase orders for janitorial products Keying of all purchase orders for transportation (parts and supplies, petroleum
products, tires and tubes) Keying of purchase orders for all vocational funds Keying of purchase orders for office supplies and equipment for central office Keying of purchase orders for instructional materials and supplies, library
enhancement and state technology for all schools Processing payment of purchase cards for instructional materials and supplies for all
schools Keying of purchase orders for items bid (school buses, school furniture, equipment
of all types, etc.) Assure that the above purchases are in compliance with specific bids let by the
central office (prices and specifications are as stated in bid files) Keying of purchase orders and maintenance of records for current projects Check and process for payment all vendor invoices on above purchases, assuring
discounts are taken where applicable and credit memorandums are received as necessary See that all invoices are paid on a timely basis Keying of utilities and phone service bills for payment each month Processing of vendor checks monthly, maintaining all check records for auditing purposes and necessary research of such records Check for accuracy statements received each month

Job Description ? Administrative Assistant to Superintendent

Position Title ? Administrative Assistant to Superintendent
Reports to ? Superintendent
Required Education and Experience ? Minimum of high school diploma Experience with the Etowah County School System and knowledge of day-to-day operations of the school system and central office Competent knowledge of school system budgeting practices
Duties/Responsibilities ? Assist the Superintendent and Board Members with daily operation of school system Minutes of board meetings, record minutes of all open meetings of the Board and responsible for booking the approved minutes Use of approved existing accounting system to provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions of the Board of Education Maintain accounts and records in bookkeeping activities, such as, recording revenues and disbursements; purchase orders; monitoring of internal controls; preparation of reports Ability to communicate and supervise other employees with the proper recording of transactions Knowledge of system-wide accounting principles and the ability to properly implement the recording of transactions to reflect compliance with laws and regulations of governmental units

Duties/Responsibilities ? Work closely with and assist lunchroom manager in entire food program operation Direct the lunchroom program in the absence of the manager Assist in the preparation of food Assist in serving staff and students Assist in cleaning kitchen, serving, and dining areas Assist in setting and maintaining safety standards and practices Other duties as directed by lunchroom manager
