The Situation: It has been decided that your novel will become a Hollywood movie. Like all movies, the producers of this motion picture have decided to include an effective soundtrack, and would like YOU to design it.

Your Job: For this soundtrack, you must choose 8 songs that would represent important parts in the story / movie. You must write and design liner notes for this soundtrack. In your liner notes, you should include the following information

• Each entry must include the song title and recording artist.

• You must mention where in the movie this song would be played.

• Explain why this song is the perfect song for this part of the movie.

• Each liner note should be at least 6-8 sentences long.

Example:

Track 3: ‘Bring Me to Life’ by Evanescence. This song would be played during the scene when Charlie sees Miss Kinnian as a beautiful woman, rather than an old teacher. I think the line ‘Now that I know what I’m without, you can’t just leave me. Breathe into me and make me real.’ This happens on April 28. I think this is perfect because Charlie now knows what life as a ‘smart’ person is like. He knows what he has been missing and likes it. He doesn’t want to go back.

The template for this is up to you. Use your creativity and technology to make this as realistic as you can. You may need to make them double-sized (10’ x 10’) in order to fit everything.

Final Production: Whether or not your liner notes can actually fit into a CD jewel case, I would like you to design a mock up of the CD cover. This will include a cover picture and a name for the movie (other than your novel’s title).
