Accommodations

During your initial meeting with the CDS office (your Intake Appointment), you discussed which accommodations you are eligible for and which apply to your academic barriers. A qualified CDS staff member made the legal accommodation referral to include any of the following accommodations to support you while you are attending Everett Community College.

The accommodations you are eligible for can be viewed anytime in AccessPortal after your Intake Appointment. You do not have to use all the accommodations that you are eligible for and must request accommodations before every quarter.

3

You must request your accommodations on AccessPortal every quarter and for each class at least 6 weeks before the start of classes to avoid a delay of services. You may also submit your request using the Request for Service form at the CDS Office.

If this is a barrier for you, please discuss with the CDS office to make other arrangements for accommodation requests.

Request due dates are on the CDS Calendar. Please remember that requests that are received after the due date may experience a delay in the processing and administering of your services and accommodations.

If you change your classes after the time you submit your request, please notify the CDS Office or submit your change in AccessPortal.

Faculty Notification Letter

After your request has been processed, your instructor will be notified of your accommodations and requirements through an online faculty letter. You must request this service each quarter on AccessPortal. You must follow up with your instructor during the first week of classes, after the faculty letters have been delivered (check AccessPortal for status).

We have many resources to support you in your academic success. If you feel like something would help you or other students that you don't see listed here, let us know!

If you do not have an ADA placard but need to get one, you can access the form on the Department of Motor Vehicles website or pick up a copy of the form at the CDS office. You must take this form to your medical care provider and then to the DMV to receive your placard. You do not have to register the placard with the CDS office.

If you need ADA parking spot but there are none available, go to the Security Office in Parks Student Union or call them at 425-388-9990 and they can assist you in finding an appropriate space or get you a temporary pass.

Issues Around Campus If you experience any issues around campus that affect your access, please bring them to the attention of the Center for Disability Services or fill out a Hazard Reporting Form, located on the Security and Emergency Management's webpage.
