Character Trait Book Report
Students are to read a chapter book. I will supply them with a book from the class library. After reading the book, they are to choose one main character to draw and discuss. They are to then draw the character using poster board, decorate it according to the rubric and cut it out. The character should have a shirt, pants, legs, arms and a head. The illustration should be a full poster board size. The project is due September 5, Thursday. There will be no exceptions. Everyday the project is late the student will lose 10 points off of their total grade.
Criteria
Read the book and document on attached reading log. 10pts. /______
Draw a poster size image of character 20pts. /______
Shirt (has the characters major events in the story including the conflicts) 20pts. /______
Pants (has the character’s traits and quotes from the story that support that trait)
Example: Samantha is Mean. “I wish that you would fall and break your leg Abigail.” 20pts. /______
Creativity (color, clothes drawn on, neatness) 15pts. /______
Summary of story (look at rubric) 15ts. /______
