What are the pro’s & con’s of gay marriage & civil unions? How is this related to equal rights related to citizenship? Why is the military considering ending its ban on openly homosexual soldiers? Key points: Who is affected by Sexual Assault; Definition of Sexual Assault; Obstacles to victims’ reporting sexual assault & what are options for reporting; Primary motive for rape (power & control); Most common date rape drug; bystander intervention to prevent Sexual assault; % sexual assaults planned in advance; 5 sexual assaults committed by someone victim knows; common responses of rape survivors; Proportion of men who were/are sexually abused at some point in life; false reports of rape (how much?); more victim caution could prevent rape?; “blaming the victim” concept
