Did you know that you can embed a PDF file in an Excel, Word, or PowerPoint 2010 file?

Embedding files is sometimes helpful to reduce the length of a document and to keep related content contained within the same file. Take a closer look below.

1. Open the file (Excel, Word, or PowerPoint) and place your cursor where you would like the PDF file to appear as an icon.

2. From the Insert command tab, select Object from the Text group.

3. Next, from the Object screen click on the Create from File tab and then click Browse to navigate to the PDF file that you want to embed in your file.

4. Select the check box for Display as icon and select OK.

The file is now embedded in your document and can be opened by clicking on the file icon.
