How to Create a Login Card

Create a login card to send home so your parents and students never forget to log into Study Island!

To create a login card, you will use Microsoft Word to mail merge a login card template and an Excel file containing your students' information. The best way to get a list of student user names and passwords is to Export Users from Study Island into Excel. Next, use the template provided by Study Island or create your own card in Word and complete a mail merge. To get your Login Card template, contact implementation@ . Using the template: Replace School Name with your school's name. To Mail Merge with your file:

1. Click Mailings 2. Click Select Recipients, then click Use Existing List. 3. Find your document and Open, then click OK 4. Click Preview Results to confirm the fields are being mapped accurately. 5. Click Finish&Merge and select Edit Individual Documents.

Create your own: Below is the Study Island logo you can use to start fresh with your own card.

You'll find the mail merge wizard helpful.

1. Start with a blank document. 2. Within the Wizard select Labels, then select Next. 3. Select the label type from Label options, then select Use the current document, and click

Next. 4. Then merge with your file: Use an existing list, Browse for the file. Ok, Next.

Helpful Hint: You may need to remove the field from the cards. 5. Select More Items, select the information from the file that you wanted included in

the label and click Insert, then click Update all labels, and Next Helpful Hint: You might want to adjust the spacing between fields and add your own

information but only in the top left label. Click Update all labels again to see the changes you made occur in every box. 6. Preview the cards, complete the merge, and print!
