Classroom Rules and Expectations

Performance II,III, IV

Rules and Expectations

Ms. Stambaugh

Classroom Procedures

1. In order to not be counted tardy, please be in the classroom/stage area when the bell rings.

2. Three tardies will result in a behavior referral submitted to the office.

3. The key to success is being prepared! Therefore, all necessary classroom materials (pencil, pen, script, class notebook, etc.) will be brought to class daily.

4. No eating or drinking is permitted in class at any time (with the exception of drinks in bottles).

5. No tobacco products of any kind are allowed.

6. No talking is allowed when the teacher has the floor to speak or while a rehearsal is going on.

7. Be respectful of your peers’ performances.

8. When critiquing a performance, only constructive criticism will be given.

9. Do not gather your class materials early. We work bell to bell in our classroom, so class does not end until the bell rings.

10. When leaving the classroom, remove all waste around your work area and place it in the wastebasket or recycling bin. Do not leave trash on my floor or in the stage area.

11. Off-book dates are strictly enforced and not a suggestion.

12. No cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed out in the classroom at any time.

13. Profanity of any kind will not be tolerated. The use of profanity in the classroom will result in a behavior referral submitted to the office.

14. We will always treat our peers with respect and kindness.

15. Be amazing. Be a team player. Speak kindly. Work hard.

Participation Expectations

This is a performance-based class; therefore your participation in ALL theatrical productions is mandatory. Participation can be either performance or production (lights, sound, costumes, sets, etc.) There will be THREE major productions this school year. These performances will be performed for the public and will take place in the evenings. Attendance is mandatory.

Rehearsal Procedures

We are limited to a fifty-minute class period, so we must make the most of our class time. Rehearsals will be conducted primarily during our class time as a way to avoid conflicts with extra-curricular activities.

Make-Up Work Procedure

You will have five days from the date of an absence to schedule and complete your work outside of class. Makeup work will be placed in the makeup work folder and can be collected at any time. If there is no assignment to be found in the folder, please see me before or after class to discuss what was missed during the absence.

Late Work Policy

I expect all work to be submitted promptly. 10 points will be deducted from the assignment for each day that it is late.

Conference Policy

If you would like to discuss or receive assistance on an assignment, or would like to discuss a grade with me in person, I am available after school every evening. I am also able to make arrangements to meet before school hours if necessary. If you have questions regarding a grade or an assignment, please feel free to email me as well. My email address can be found on the class syllabus.

I have read Ms. Stambaugh’s classroom rules and expectations, and I understand the proper procedures for her class.
