Classroom Rules and Expectations

Classroom Procedures
1. In order not to be counted tardy, please be in your assigned seat when the bell rings and, if applicable, begin work on your daily task.
2. The key to success is being prepared! Therefore, all necessary classroom materials (pencil, pen, paper, journal or class notebook, novel, etc.) will be brought to class daily. You may not leave my classroom to obtain these materials.
3. No eating or drinking is permitted in class at any time (with the exception of drinks in bottles).
4. No tobacco is allowed. I will catch you. I catch everyone. You will regret this. It’s disgusting and negatively affects your health.
5. No talking is allowed during testing or when the teacher or a classmate has the floor to speak. This is common courtesy.
6. Do not gather your class materials early. Class does not end until the bell rings.
7. The only materials that you will work on during this class will pertain to English.
8. When leaving the classroom, remove all waste around your work area and place it in the wastebasket. Do not leave trash on my floor.
9. If caught cheating on any assignment, you will receive a zero on that assignment.
10. No cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed in the classroom. Don’t make me take your phone. I will if you are not following the rules.
11. Profanity reflects a lack of respect and will not be tolerated. Don’t have a potty mouth. It’s disgusting.
12. We will never treat one another discourteously.
13. Be amazing. Be a team player. Speak kindly. Work hard.
14. Succeed. You are too awesome not to succeed. Make it happen.
Make-Up Work Procedure
You will have five days from the date of an absence to schedule and complete your work outside of class. Please see me before or after school to collect any missed assignments.
Late Work Policy
I expect all work to be submitted promptly. Work that is one day late will automatically be reduced by 50 percent. Work will be considered late if submitted outside of the class period.
I have read Ms. Bowling’s classroom rules and expectations, and I understand the proper procedures for her class.
