Slide notes

Release 9 also provides integrations with Agile EDM and Fusion PIM.

Notes

Slide 9 - Linking Requirements

[pic]

Slide notes

Release 9 continues to improve on Requirement to Item to Test Case Traceability. As part of this, we have introduced easier ways to link different types of requirements and test cases. There are visual indications of connected requirements.

Notes

Slide 10 - Linking Requirements

[pic]

Slide notes

There is a special screen where you can associate test cases to requirements. These links show up in the impacted/depends on tables within the Requirements and Test Cases. Side by Side review is now possible.

Notes

Slide 11 - Audit Trail

[pic]

Slide notes

IM offers an audit trail on all requirements. The audit kicks in from the second version of the specification. It will track who made what kind of changes to a Requirement Specification.

Notes

Slide 12 - Audit Trail

[pic]

Slide notes

For audits later on an Item, you can now track back to the actual requirement, whether the item was connected to the correct requirement, and whether anyone changed it, and if so, why.

Notes

Slide 13 - Baseline Requirements

[pic]

Slide notes

Any time a base line is required for a requirement, you can copy the entire specification to another version. That version can be locked and frozen, and updates can be continuously made to the original requirement.

Notes

Slide 14 - Baseline Requirements

[pic]

Slide notes

Any time the organization has to freeze a requirement for an important product milestone, it is now possible to keep the snapshot. At any given point, a snapshot can be used to make the specification “current”.

Notes

Slide 15 - Traceability

[pic]

Slide notes

Traceability is a key theme for Innovation Management. For regulated industries in particular it is important to track an idea to a requirement and then to a concept, but most importantly from a Requirement to the Item and how it was tested. Relationships are rolled up to the top level of the Requirement Specification, and can be viewed and exported in case a report is required.

Notes

Slide 16 - Traceability

[pic]

Slide notes

Such traceability of the product’s origin, its requirements, and how it was tested are crucial in regulated industries such as Life Sciences and Medical Devices. It forms the basis of audits, especially in cases where quality issues are concerned. Innovation Management offers a simple export of the data to Excel for easy tracking of related objects.

Notes

Slide 17 - Open Comments

[pic]

Slide notes

Commenting on requirements helps various team members to work together to refine the requirements. Once the comment has been absorbed by the product manager, the status of the comment can be closed. This provides an easy workbench for product managers to quickly assimilate feedback from others and refine their requirements.

Notes

Slide 18 - Open Comments

[pic]

Slide notes

Commenting gives an opportunity to keep track of all open questions on requirements, fix any issues on the requirement text or scope, and retain history of the comments.

Notes

Slide 19 - Drill Through Charts – Ideas

[pic]

Slide notes

In Release 8 Innovation Management charts were not clickable. In Release 9, users can quickly drill down into subsets of the data based on what they click in a chart.

Notes

Slide 20 - Drill Through Charts – Ideas

[pic]

Slide notes

Drilling through to key data is important in following an idea. Charts and the drill through capability provide a visual experience while searching for key information.

Notes

Slide 21 - Drill Through Charts – Requirements

[pic]

Slide notes

In the case of requirements, users can analyze requirements by priority or fulfillment status. Navigation to the subset of requirements that have issues makes it easy to get working on the requirements that are progressing slowly.

Notes

Slide 22 - Rich Text Editor For Ideas

[pic]

Slide notes

Ideas need to be described using rich text, consisting of audio, video, graphics and so forth. Innovation Management has improved the editor for Ideas so that users can view compelling data and act upon it.

Notes

Slide 23 - Rich Text Editor For Ideas

[pic]

Slide notes

Ideas can be described in great detail and visually to have a better impact.

Notes

Slide 24 - Search Across The Product Network

[pic]

Slide notes

Product Network search is important to quickly find a related test case or requirement or item, and to view all related data. Innovation Management provides a visual experience to find information quickly across a large product chain.

Notes

Slide 25 - Search Across The Product Network

[pic]

Slide notes

Search for crucial, incomplete data across the product network like unfulfilled requirements and so forth. The search is shown to the right side of the diagram, and results in some data which can then be made the “focus”. This approach of a quick search and then the 360 degree view of the data is very powerful for finding specific data within a complex set of related data.

Notes

Slide 26 - Item Compare

[pic]

Slide notes

Items in Concept Design can be compared before being selected. This makes it easier to select the correct or appropriate Item.

Notes

Slide 27 - Item Compare

[pic]

Slide notes

Once the item is compared and selected, it can be used in the Concept. Before comparison, it can be exported to Excel for further collaboration. The Excel file can be saved and then uploaded to Oracle Social Network allowing others, internal and external to the enterprise, to comment and provide feedback on the best Item to be used.

Notes

Slide 28 - Requirement Search

[pic]

Slide notes

This ease of use feature is similar to a Concept where concept components and items can be searched within the Concept tree. Requirements that matched the search are highlighted, and users can navigate to each one of them.

Notes

Slide 29 - Requirement Search

[pic]

Slide notes

Users can easily find requirements within a large Requirement Specification tree, and be able to analyze them.

Notes

Slide 30 - Creation Of Proposal From Ideas

[pic]

Slide notes

Ideas can be gathered up and associated with a formal proposal. This allows ideas to be quickly “dispositioned” into a formal review through a Proposal.

Notes

Slide 31 - Creation Of Proposal From Ideas

[pic]

Slide notes

The Proposal object will now keep track of all the ideas that led to the proposal being created. Eventually proposals go into a Portfolio and are analyzed for feasibility against corporate strategy.

Notes

Slide 32 - Export Proposal

[pic]

Slide notes

Proposals may need to be reviewed or commented on by the team members. For this purpose, users can export the proposal with key data and metrics, and save the report. That report can be uploaded to an Oracle Social Network conversation for review and feedback.

Notes

Slide 33 - Export Proposal

[pic]

Slide notes

The printed report provides an easy way to exchange information, especially if some of the users are not using the Innovation Management system.

Notes

Slide 34 - Integration With Agile EDM Application (E6)

[pic]

Slide notes

Integration to Agile EDM (e6) provides users with the ability to use the e6 items in a concept for re-design, and promote re-use. Once the concept is ready, it can be published back to e6. This powerful integration helps users extend the e6 use cases and use Innovation Management to track Ideas, Requirements and so forth to e6 Items.

Notes

Slide 35 - Integration With Agile EDM Application (E6)

[pic]

Slide notes

This provides end to end traceability from Ideas to Concepts to Items to Requirement and Test Cases, working against various Item Masters (which could be EDM e6, Agile A9, or PIM).

Notes

Slide 36 - Integration With Fusion PIM

[pic]

Slide notes

Similar to Agile A9 and EDM e6, Innovation Management can also be used by users who already have Fusion PIM. This provides end to end traceability from Ideas to Concepts to Items to Requirement and Test Cases, working against various Item Masters. Concepts can be converted to PIM Items directly, and then worked on prior to commercialization and manufacturing.

Notes

Slide 37 - Integration With Fusion PIM

[pic]

Slide notes

Back and forth re-use of PIM Items will result in lowered Part Costs for the enterprise. Items can be tracked in PIM for preparation for commercialization.

Notes
