Oral Essay

You will present an live to the class. Select one of the following topics and outline a 4-5 paragraph expository essay. While your essay may deviate from the standard five-paragraph expository format, each body paragraph must include strong points and specific proofs to support your thesis. You must submit a works cited for your proof after the presentation of your essay.

For the purposes of this project, you may use informal speech; however, it must be done purposefully, and your structure must follow the expository outline.

Note that you will be evaluated on your outline and presentation only. This being said, you do not need to write out your essay. You may also use some form of visual in your essay. A data projector will be available to you as well. If you’re going to make a powerpoint, remember the tips given in our class discussion. Finally, to save time, please bring your powerpoint on a USB key on the day of your presentation. You will be given no more than 1 minute for setup.
