Berwyn Family Stars in New Webisode Series Chronicling Their CertainTeed®

Living Spaces® Facebook® Home Makeover

(Malvern, Pa.) – A heartfelt video featuring two sons explaining why their mom deserved to have their Berwyn house remodeled won the CertainTeed® Living Spaces® Facebook® Home Makeover Contest. Now Pastor Sue Ericsson, her husband Charles “Chase” Ferguson, Jr. and their sons, Amani and Gabe, are starring in a new Internet TV series that follows the family through the entire renovation process, from the first meeting with the contractor to the beautiful final reveal. The first two webisodes are now available on the CertainTeed Living Spaces YouTube® channel and Facebook® page.

Their winning video entry begins by showing damage to the family’s home caused by years of exposure to rough weather and massive ice storms that hammered the Northeast. Then, amusing tongue-in-cheek vignettes of the boys taking their mom for granted are played out. Finally, they acknowledge their lack of appreciation in their plea for CertainTeed to help them demonstrate how much they love their mom by selecting the video they created as the winner.

“Amani and Gabe’s video really struck a chord with the judges, and viewers agreed, as it remained a popular choice during contest voting,” said Matt Gibson, marketing director for CertainTeed Siding. “Working together with our local credentialed contracting team to repair and upgrade their home was a real joy for all involved.”

The first webisode, titled “Sue and family meet 5-Star contractor Jack Impriano,” shows Sue and her sons during their initial consultation with Jack Impriano of Impriano Roofing and Siding. The company, which has locations in Berwyn and Broomall, Pennsylvania, has worked with CertainTeed products for more than 40 years and is a credentialed CertainTeed 5-Star® Green Contractor and SELECT ShingleMaster®; companies that hold these credentials have completed the most advanced installation and product training offered by CertainTeed.

The webisode accompanies Sue, Amani, Gabe and Jack Impriano as they inspect the house and discuss various ways to fix the damage and beautify the exterior. The general outline of the project begins to emerge as the family considers which CertainTeed products best meet their needs. Viewers will learn about CertainTeed’s comprehensive roofing, siding and trim options – including CertaWrap™ house wrap, CedarBoards™ insulated vinyl siding, Landmark® PRO roofing shingles, InvisiVent® vinyl soffit, Restoration Millwork® cellular PVC trimboards and Vinyl Carpentry® trim – and begin to get a sense of how well these products complement each other to combine style, color and durability for phenomenal curb appeal.

The family and Jack Impriano also envision the creation of a larger outdoor living “oasis” to replace the home’s original deck, with CertainTeed’s EverNew® vinyl railing system a key element of the overall design. Impriano sourced the products for the remodeling project from Marvic Supply Company in Edgemont, Pennsylvania.

The second webisode, titled “CertainTeed’s design tools help Sue visualize the remodel,” shows Sue, her husband Chase and son Amani using unique CertainTeed online visualization tools including ColorView® and the CurbAppeal™ mobile app. The family also used ColorCoach™ —an easy color coordinator. These interactive, user-friendly tools are fun to work with and help homeowners with the often-challenging color, style and design selection process.

CurbAppeal, for example, enables the user to try out different color and product combinations on a realistic 3D model home rendering, while ColorView allows experimentation with images of the customer’s own home.

As Sue states in the webisode, “What we have here on the ColorView site is our own house, and CertainTeed has masked it out so we’ll be able to put different colors on the roof and different parts of the siding, and we have a front view and a back view so we’ll be able to look at all of that together. How cool is that?!”

The “No Place Like Home” and “Finishing Touches” brochures provided additional inspiration and helped solidify their final selections. Each look-book guides homeowners through the mix and match process with stunning imagery of homes showcasing the latest trends from the experts.

Webisodes will be released every few weeks and are available for viewing at the CertainTeed Living Spaces Facebook page (certainteedlivingspaces) and YouTube channel (CTLivingSpaces). Viewers are encouraged to watch for a chance to participate in a variety of Facebook contests during the coming months.
