Bio for Dr. Bradford Lee

Dr. Bradford Lee is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute specializing in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).

Dr. Lee graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in biochemical sciences, received his master's degree in health policy, planning, and financing at the London School of Economics, and attended Stanford University for medical school, where he received research scholarships for his work in rural South India at the Aravind Eye Care System. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Bascom Palmer and went on to complete a prestigious ASOPRS oculoplastics fellowship at the University of California, San Diego's Shiley Eye Institute under Dr. Don Kikkawa and Dr. Bobby Korn. During his fellowship, he had the opportunity to work with some of the finest facial plastic surgeons and cosmetic dermatologists throughout Southern California and across the country, and he was a two-time recipient of the Outstanding Teaching Award. He was awarded the 2016 Marvin L. Quickert Prize from ASOPRS for the most outstanding research thesis for his work on thyroid eye disease.

Dr. Lee has presented his research and taught courses at national and international meetings, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), Vegas Cosmetic Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery Forum, International Thyroid Eye Disease Society, Research Institute of Ophthalmology, and other regional meetings in Asia, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and served as a reviewer for journals such as Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Orbit, American Journal of Ophthalmology, and Investigation Ophthalmology and Visual Science. He serves on the Young ASOPRS Committee, AAO annual meeting program committee, the AAO Basic and Clinic Science Course (BCSC) Committee for Oculofacial Plastic and Orbital Surgery, and is a section editor for EyeWiki Oculoplastics. At Bascom Palmer, Dr. Lee has an active role in residency education and in training the institute's three ASOPRS oculoplastics fellows. He has received grants for resident and fellow training in cosmetic injectables, and regularly teaches surgical cadaver courses on orbital surgery, cosmetic facial surgery, and cosmetic injectable procedures.
