Aquatics (Kat Fish)- when new COVID policies come out, meeting will set up to go over any new restrictions, Spring and Fall workshops expected as well.Camps (Katie MacCammon)- Round table of common practices, meeting yesterday, trying to move forward more normally for the summer.Fitness- meeting today conflict with our meetingNext Meeting- April 6, 2021- 10:00am-12:00pm - Microsoft TeamsRound table (Jurisdictions report out)Alexandria- vaccinations for staff/contractors, summer programming still in process, sharing space in centers for city entities.City of Fairfax- (Kaveh Tajalli) Green Acres shut down, Connected Care program, lay-offs for part time employees but slowly bringing them back on, no special events, trying to move forward with 4th of July celebrations, April 17th Whiskey Tasting eventFalls Church (Amy Youngs)- Summer camp registration on Monday, special events Bunny Hops Around Town and bags, Memorial Day ceremony small scale, migrated to new RecTrac, Park Authority (Emilie Shumate/Roberta Korzen)- adjusting events to virtual or small scale, hiring camp and RecPac staff, hoping to open Watermine with restrictions, transitioned POS system for golf, record number of golf participants and helping with revenue numbers, new marketing initiatives for golf program.Herndon (Cindy Roeder/Cynthia Hoftiezer)- George Mason Recreation Advisory board meeting next week, planning for summer camps-waiting on approval, March in the Parks events, slowly moving back into programming.Loudoun (Nicole Falceto)- Strategic Planning coming to a close, staff are supporting vaccination sites and testing pods, planning for summer camp, Spring sports season opens later on in March and seeing great registration.Prince William (Kat Fish)- camp guide went live on Monday, registration is doing well, moving forward with opening all outdoor pools with strategic re-openings pending hiring/training, waiting on execute orders to expand more.Reston Community Center (Deborah Heron/Nick Burt)- cancelled large special events but running smaller events like modified Egg Hunt, camps are on schedule with modified sizes, pool is open for indoor swim, discussion on when/how to start receiving private reservations for facilities.Vienna (Lily Widman/Natalie Duncan)- open for summer camp registration on Monday 3/1, DYI flashlight Egg Hunt, Bunny Around Town event, Fishing Rodeo in person with modifications, Liberty Amendments Month-month long event for small businesses, Family Open Gym start back up, website launch coming soon.Warrenton (Tommy Cureton)- transitioning to a new recreation management system, February 15th fitness classes back up and running, operational changes, Town Council approved master plan for new park, post St. Patrick’s Day event on March 18th to encourage community to go out to parks, hiring lifeguards/front desk staff/recreational staff.Discussion: Sharing information on resources: From the NRPA magazine to the Parks & Rec Done Right Facebook Group, what are the most impactful resources you use to get advice, creative ideas, and recommendations?
