ART START AGES 2.5-5 W ant to get your young person started in art? Then this class is for you! Preschoolers will get introduced to all kinds of fun art projects using a variety of materials such as clay, paint, textiles, pastels and much more.

CLAY CLASS FOR CREATIVE KIDS

AGES 2.5-5 Know the thrill of creating with clay! During this fun class, parents and children will make plates, figures, vases and wall hangings. Students will decorate and glaze all of their one-of-a-kind clay creations.

HOLIDAY CRAFTS

AGES 2.5-5 Parents and children will each create extra special holiday crafts using a variety of materials that your family will cherish for years to come.

STORIES THAT COME ALIVE AGES 2.5-5 Mom, dad, or grandparent, bring your child to the Art Center for a shared time of fun activities. This class includes art projects all centered around special stories for children.

NATURE PRESCHOOL DROP-OFF PROGRAM AGES 3.5-6 In these classes, children will discover nature. Classes include songs, short hikes, stories, crafts and hands-on experiences both inside and outside. Repeat class offered the 1st and 2nd Friday of each month, each month having a different theme. This is a dropoff program.

PRESCHOOL IN THE GARDEN AGES 3.5-6 E ach series of three classes focuses on seasonal components of gardening that encourages exploration, creativity and

healthy eating. Activities during the three-day series may include craft projects, science experiments, garden tours, story time, bug catching and more. Participants should be dressed for the weather, wear closed toed shoes and bring a bottled water. This is a dropoff program.

SCHOOL BREAK PROGRAMS ADULT + CHILD (ALL AGES) For class description, see page 14.

STORY TRAIL ADVENTURE AGES 3-6 Offered the 2nd Tuesday of each month. We invite you and your preschooler to join us to walk our ? mile trail and read a story together. Afterwards each child can get creative

with our story-related craft. Children should dress for the weather and be accompanied by an adult.

GOAL!

Hockey Learn to Play

The focus and goal of the Hockey Learn to Play curriculum is to teach beginner hockey players the fundamentals of skating. It is important for these developing players to become comfortable on the ice, learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and how to hold a stick before moving into a 6U or 8U full hockey curriculum. Players need to be able to participate in class independently from parent. Scholarships are available for these classes.

HOCKEY LEARN TO PLAY 1 (H1)

AGES 4-8 P layers will learn how to sit on ice and stand up, proper stance, march forward, forward two-foot glide, dip, squat, scooter pushes, T-push, forward swizzles, snowplow stop and backwards skating. Full equipment required. Idaho IceWorld will provide rental equipment at no additional charge. Helmet must be provided by skater. No sticks allowed.

HOCKEY LEARN TO PLAY 2 (H2)

AGES 4-8 P layers will learn backward stance, skating forward using full strides, forward onefoot glides, backward hustle, backward swizzles, glide turns and moving snowplow stops. Full equipment required. Idaho IceWorld will provide rental equipment at no additional charge. Helmet and stick must be provided by skater.

Hockey Learn to Play

HOCKEY LEARN TO PLAY 3 (H3) AGES 4-8 Players will learn one-foot snowplow stop, introduce hips with ? turn twist to hockey stop, full strides using 45-degree V-Push, shuffle stride, backwards hustle, backward C-Cuts, power pushes, backward outside edge glide, forward C-Cuts, C-push glide, forward outside and inside edges, gliding 2 foot turn and lateral Crossover March. Classes will be structured following USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM) Program. Full equipment required. Idaho IceWorld will provide rental equipment at no additional charge. Helmet and stick must be provided by skater.

HOCKEY LEARN TO PLAY (H4)

AGES 4-8 Pre-requisite requirement: mastery of Hockey Learn to Play 3 (H3) skills. Class includes on-ice coaching instruction and scrimmages. Full hockey equipment is required. Player must provide his/her own helmet and stick.

USA HOCKEY NATIONWIDE TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE CLINIC

AGES 4-17 USA Hockey is sponsoring a Try Hockey for Free clinic at Idaho IceWorld. Skates, sticks, gloves and helmets will be provided. Equipment fitting held 30 minutes prior to taking the ice. Registration is free but required.

ICE SKATING

ICE SKATING ? Learn to Skate AGES 2-12 Recognized by Learn to Skate USA as a Top 10 program in the country, Idaho IceWorld's Learn to Skate program provides a fun and structured way for skaters to be physically active and improve their skills under the professional eyes of certified instructors. We have group classes for all levels and ages. Check out the curriculum for each level at .

All students of Idaho IceWorld's Learn to Skate program must be current members of our governing body, Learn to Skate USA. With your annual $16 membership in the best skating program, endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey and US Speedskating, you will receive access to loads of information, secondary accident insurance and be able to participate in lessons, performances and competitions associated with Learn to Skate USA. ICE SHOW CAST AGES 4-12All Learn to Skate students who register for BOTH the Sept/ Oct and Nov/Dec sessions are eligible to participate in the annual Ice Show co-produced by Idaho IceWorld and the Boise Figure Skating Club. Practices will be every Monday, Sept. 23-Dec. 2, with Nov. 25 off. Adult and Teen group will practice before each Tuesday class. Two additional mandatory rehearsals will be scheduled.

This show is professionally choreographed and has become an IceWorld tradition boasting two sold out shows every year. Because of the popularity of this show, we have decided to move to a larger venue this

Learn to Skate

year, CenturyLink Arena. The show will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, time of day TBD. Students receive extra on and off ice instruction and have loads of fun! Being a cast member is a huge commitment of time and energy. Costume fees are TBD. More Information will be available in late August. Check our website for updates. City of Boise, Parks and Recreation Scholarships do not apply to this activity.

BALLET, JAZZ & CHEER COMBO

AGES 3.5-5 T his is the perfect class for those who just want to have fun moving and performing with music, but just aren't sure how! Participants will begin learning the basics of ballet, jazz and cheer. A short performance may be given on the last day to show off what we have learned. Participants will need to come ready to move and have a great time, no special shoes or clothing required!

BALLET ? Musical

AGES 3.5-5 T his fun introduction to dance and ballet is great for boys and girls alike! Through basic steps, terminology, creative movement, storytelling dances and ballet we will encourage creativity, coordination and self-esteem.

BOOGIE BABIES PARENT/ TODDLER

ADULT + CHILD (WALKING-AGE 3) Parents and toddlers will love exploring movement and music together in this class! Toddlers will be introduced to a classroom setting in a fun and welcoming way. They will develop motor skills, begin learning how to follow directions and interact with others, and of course, there'll be a whole lot of boogieing going on! This class encourages little ones to move freely and expressively. Parents and toddlers should wear

comfortable clothes and parents should be prepared to participate in all activities.

AGES 3-5 Each class includes a dance warmup, the BrainDance, exploration of concepts and skills through dance games, an obstacle course and a bit of relaxation and stamps at the end. New dance concepts are focused on every two weeks, helping dancers investigate space, time and force. In these ways, they will develop excellent body awareness and a joyful relationship with music and movement!

MOVE IT!

AGES 3.5-5 Boys and girls will have a blast moving to the music in this class! Come learn basic dance steps, terminology and explore your own creative movement styles through imaginative music and games in a fun positive environment. Class time will be spent helping young dancers enhance physical development, interaction with others, following directions and self-esteem. Come learn etiquette of the studio, movement and rhythm. A short performance may be given on the last day of class in the classroom setting.

Boogie Babies Parent/Toddler

TAP ? Beginner AGES 3.5-5 What could be better than having fun while making music with your feet? Tap is one of the oldest forms of dance and is great for helping to develop strong legs, balance and quick feet. Boys and girls alike will have a tremendous amount of fun learning the basics in a fun, positive environment. Come see how much fun you can have making beautiful noise with your feet!
