Of the potential Indiana bat range in Michigan, a total of 441,214 ac (178,554 ha) are within the action area, approximately 40 percent of which (178,214 ac; 72,121 ha) is owned by the HMNF. Indiana bats known to summer in southern Michigan must migrate from hibernacula to the south in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, or from Tippy Dam to the north. ................
