PWOC BOARD REPORT SUMMARY (Example)August 2011SPIRITUAL LIFEThis fall we are offering 3 studies: Lies Women Believe and the Truth that Sets Them Free (moderate homework), Adventurous Prayer (light homework), and Lord, Where Are You When Bad Things Happen? (moderate daily homework). Kathleen will be teaching the Lord study, Traci Lies…, and I will be teaching the prayer study. Hopefully we have something that appeals to women at every level of faith and interest. It was tough to select from the hundreds of good studies out there. I will be meeting with Traci and Kathleen next week for teacher training. Sign-ups have begun on Sundays after the 11:00 service. The third goal of PWOC is to develop spiritual disciplines and to encourage spiritual growth. To that end, I’m asking board members to help provide devotions for the morning session. I’m hoping that we will have time for devotions on at least an occasional Wed. morning. I KNOW that this idea terrifies some women, but God has called us all to leadership and to a new level in your faith this year. It’s encouraging for the other ladies to hear how God is working in your life (and He is!) and it is a good stretching exercise for those of us sharing.Issues for the board:How can we get information out to the AD/working women community about an evening study? What will our morning agenda look like? Could we perhaps alternate devotions with prayer time everyother week or fit them in once a month? Did I miss that from the last meeting?!?!How many weeks will we have available for study this semester? When will morning programs be?Feedback on board members doing devotions.PROGRAMSPreparation is underway for the PWOC Fall Kick-Off Program to be held on September 7, 2011 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the R.E. I would like to know if you would like me to pursue any of these other publicity avenues.PARTICIPATIONRegistration: I think given some of Michele’s input from last year, we are going to do this a bit differently. First time guests will sign a guest book with their name and address. When they have come a few times we will have them fill out a more complete information sheet with family names, anniversary etc.HOSPITALITYI will make the snack sign up list and have that out on the registration/welcome table. We are deciding to do set-up for our Wednesday meeting on a month rotation. Please sign up for a month! This will include arranging chairs, putting out overhead, setting up coffee/drinks/food table and then helping to clean the room after the meeting. Michele is going to put together a checklist of things that need to be done.PRAYERPast Activities:Reviewed material on Prayer and PWOCPraying over PWOC and the focus of this committeeResearched National Day of Prayer, World Day of Prayer, and Meet you at the pole Future Activities:Formulate a prayer flier/brochureRecruit members for a PWOC prayer vine and/or a weekly prayer groupPrint up guidelines for the prayer vine membersQuestions for the board:?Can we pair up at the end of the Board meeting for prayer? Those partners then call each other every Monday (to pray) until the next board meeting (I have an example of how to pray for each other).OUTREACHIn talking with ladies over the summer, the following are Outreach programs under consideration:Chaplain Appreciation-Pastor Appreciation is the whole month of October. We need to plan quickly to do ?something, possibly with PWOC providing lunch for the Chapel staff as well as cards of appreciation. Operation Christmas Child seems to be of interest among most women. I will begin looking to organize this ?for early November in conjunction with all Protestant and Catholic Chapel services. ?LIBRARIANNo report at this time ?ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATORNo report at this time ?HISTORIANNo report at this time ................
