OVERVIEW
In this course, you will learn about the structure, function, and roles within a family system. We will examine the human life cycle as it relates to families in our culture and in other cultures around the world. As you learn about families and their functions you will find you will learn a lot about yourself.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
* Attendance is crucial during the course to understand the concepts. You will be
marked tardy if you are not in class when the bell rings. You will not be allowed
to leave early.
* A THREE RING BINDER MUST BE KEPT FOR THE CLASS
* Class Participation- discussion
* Completion of Assignments- in and out of class
* Respect
GRADING
Grades will be determined for the following items:
1. Projects
2. Tests
3. Class work
4. Homework
5. Participation (see rubric)
MISSED WORK
It is the student’s responsibility to check for missed work if he or she is absent.
All handouts will be in the daily work folder. You will have to get the notes from someone else in the class. You will be responsible for handing in all worksheets and notes you missed.
Tests missed MUST be completed in FIVE school days. Failure to make up a test within the five day time frame will result in a ZERO. It is your responsibility to obtain a pass.
LATE WORK
Homework and projects handed in late will not receive credit. Things are due when they are due.
If you are absent the day things are due, you must hand them in the day you return to school.
CHEATING
Anyone who is caught cheating (which includes copying other people’s work, letting someone copy your work, talking during a test or looking at others papers), will receive a zero on that assignment and will not have a chance to make the work up.
