Family Retreat

June 6-8, 2014

Getting There

1. We recommend that you follow the directions from Hwy 17 in accompanied map. Your GPS may direct you to a shorter route but the roads in these directions are less winding.

Check-in

1. Registration and check in time is on Friday 4-6 PM. (Check out time on Sunday is by 2 PM)

2. Upon arrival, please check in at the Administration Lounge for registration and room assignments. There will be signage pointing you towards the right direction.

3. Dinner begins at 6 PM and we are planning to begin our first meeting session at 7:15 PM.

Room and Cabins

1. Linens (sheets, blankets, pillows and towels) are provided in the Berea deluxe rooms. Guests need to bring their own linens if they are staying in a family cabin. If you plan to use the swimming pool, separate swimming towels should be brought by every guest. There is no housekeeping staff available during our weekend stay.

2. There are no phones, cable TV or internet access in any of the rooms or cabins. Wireless access is available within 150 feet of the Administration Lounge. Most cell phone carriers operate well.

3. A bin for lost and found items is located on the ground floor of the Administration building. Items will be held for one week after the retreat and then donated to a local charity if not claimed.

4. County noise regulations require quiet after 10 PM each evening and the meeting rooms closed by 11 PM.

Food Service

1. There are scheduled meals throughout the weekend of our stay. Please keep in mind that there are multiple groups present on the grounds and we need to cooperate with these meal times.

2. The meal plan generally accommodates gluten-free, diabetics and vegetarians. The kitchen is willing to modify meals for severe allergies if it is able.

3. Please bring snacks and drinks to share with the group in the Berea meeting room.

4. Complementary hot beverages are served between 6:30 and 8am each morning in the Brookside Lounge, with coffee generally available throughout the day in the lounge.

Recreation and Leisure

1. The heated pool is slated to be open on Saturday 2-5pm. A lifeguard is usually provided but adults are asked to accompany kids under age 14. Kids under age 14 will be given a swim test if they would like to access the deep end.

2. There are several hiking trails but be aware of possible poison oak. Carry water and hike in groups if possible.

3. Redwood Gift and Book Store is opened in the afternoon and offers books, gifts and snacks.

4. The hilly terrain is dangerous for skateboards, bicycles, scooters, and the like. For your safety and the safety of others, the above are prohibited on the grounds.

Miscellaneous

1. No pets are allowed on the grounds.
