| |Battle of Bunker Hill Takes Place |

| |In the mid 1700’s a big event took place. Americans were small because they didn’t have a |

| |lot of men unlike the British. One of the wars took place on Breeds Hill. That battle was |

| |called the Battle of Bunker Hill. Strange thing that they didn’t call it Battle of Breeds |

| |Hill. The Battle of Bunker Hill was a very important situation. It also had many important|

| |events like the patriot troops bypassed through Bunker Hill and they fortified Breeds Hill. |

| |There were also many famous people that were in the war, like George Washington, William |

| |Prescott, and General Thomas Gage. Still with all of the confusion going on all of this had|

| |to do with the Battle of Bunker Hill. |

|Why Couldn’t Women Fight |What Did the Soldiers Wear? |

|In the Revolutionary War women were not able to fight. Who knows why? There were very many |The Revolutionary War soldiers wore uniforms that are very |

|women in the Revolutionary War. They were back at the tents getting water from the wells, and|unique. The British for instance were called, the Red Coats. |

|making food. There are some women that are married to the some of the men in the war. Like |They wore red coats that were red. They were very thick and |

|Mrs. Benedict Arnold and Abigail Adams. There were also just women from the American side |heavy. For example, if it rained their coats would get so heavy |

|that just helped. They may not have even known those men. Like Molly Pitcher, Molly |it would weigh about thirty pounds. The Americans just were |

|McCauley, Anna Smith, Catherine Moore Barry, Margaret Corbird, Nancy Hart, and Rebecca Motte. |ordinary; they wore their plain, old, dirty clothes. If any men |

|All of the women just gave up their own sake and said, “I am going to help the men that are at|had fancy nice uniforms, definitely, ya they would wear their |

|war.” Did they have a choice, yes? If they wanted they wanted to help them did they, yes? |uniforms. The Americans were in luck if they wore their ordinary |

| |George Washington Goes to History |

| |George Washington was a very loyal man. Most of the Americans trusted George Washington. They all thought |

| |that he was a man that they could depend on as their Revolutionary War Leader. He became their leader, and |

| |was a good one too. He served them right and was able to be their leader for almost the whole war. George |

| |Washington was not just their leader he was their chief. He served his men the right way that a chief should.|

| |George Washington was born in the year of 1775 in February on the twenty-second. He became an official |

| |president in the year of 1789-1797. He gave everyone a strong uniting force for the new nation. George |

| |treated his troops with respect and he had a lot of responsibility. He served to whole country with respect. |

| |The people in the country missed him very much with his death on the fourteenth of December, in the year of |

| |1799. George Washington was only sixty-seven a very young man to have death. A lot of the people in his |

| |country missed him very much with all of the hard work that he has done for them. |
