Beth Hodge is one of the family founders of Echo Farm Puddings in Hinsdale, NH. The farm, founded in 1990, started with a few heifers, and is often referred to as a "4-H Project gone Haywire." Today, Echo Farm is a unique dairy farm with 100 Jersey, Guernsey and Milking Shorthorn cows. Beth graduated from Cornell University in 1997, the year the farm began producing its own line of all natural, premium puddings. Echo Farm produces 13 flavors of puddings using 20% of their milk supply. Presently, Echo Farm Puddings are sold throughout New England, New York, northern New Jersey, Chicago, and other parts of the midwest, in a variety of supermarkets, natural food stores, and co-op food stores.
In 2001, Echo Farm was proud to become the first Certified Humane dairy farm in the United States. The Certified Humane program addresses their customers concerns about their farming methods and is one of the unique selling points of Echo Farm Puddings.
Since joining the farm full time in 1997, Beth has held a variety of roles in both businesses doing everything from managing the farm to making and delivering the pudding to stores. Presently, Beth is Manager of the Dairy Farm and Director of Customer Service in the pudding business where she is responsible for customer communication. Beth is active in New Hampshire Farm Bureau, serving on her county board and chairing the New Hampshire Young Farmer Committee. Beth also serves on the Standards Committee of Humane Farm Animal Care, the organization responsible for the Certified Humane Program. Lastly, Beth is actively involved in Echo Farm's 4-H Club, and still shows her Milking Shorthorn cows at state, regional, and national shows; including the World Dairy Expo.
