POLICY:

It shall be the responsibility of the Sevier County Jail to treat all inmates incarcerated the same. All inmates admitted be Federal authorities shall be governed under the same policies and procedures as other inmates admitted to the facility with the following exceptions:

1. A U.S. Marshall's form USM-41 shall be completed by the authority placing inmate into our custody. (This replaces the mittimus.) also another USM-41 form shall be completed by the authority taking a federally detained inmate from our facility and the forms will be transferred to jail records so that proper account of inmates and inmate days can be computed. Proper identification of federal authorities shall be ascertained.

2. During admission, only one set of fingerprints will be taken, and they will be placed in the inmate's file along with the copies of other booking forms and pictures.

3. If any emergency exists concerning any federal inmate, the U.S. Marshal's office will be notified immediately, and instructions will be given as to what steps to take. If the situation is a life or death medical problem, the inmate will be transported via ambulance to the medical center, under guard and all billings will be to the U.S. Marshall's office.

4. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY FEDERAL INMATE BE ALLOWED TO BE PLACED ON TRUSTEE STATUS.
