PREFACE

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has prepared this compilation of

Federal campaign laws as an informative service to the general public. There

are three major sections of this compilation:

1. FEDERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN LAWS: The text of the

¡°Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) of 1971,¡± as amended, the

different titles. Thus, the meaning of a particular term may not be consistent

throughout this pamphlet. Note, therefore, the definitions provided in each title

or section.
