Bid Spec’s DR1000

Bid Specification for the DR7100 Series

Continuous Level Wire Guided Radar

The contacting level gauge operates on the Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) principle. It shall provide output signals directly proportional to process and/or interface level.

The instrument shall be capable of measuring process level of liquids, pastes, slurries, powders and bulk solids as well as interface level of liquids in tank heights up to 115 feet.

The device shall be capable of measuring product with dielectric constants al low as 1.1. Products with a dielectric constant greater than K > 1.6 shall be measured in the Direct mode from the product surface. Products with a dielectric constant less than K > 1.6 shall utilize the patented Tank Bottom Following (TBF) mode.

The converter shall be available with five sensor options; single rod, single cable, dual rod, dual cable or coaxial.

Probe and signal converter shall form an integral compact unit that mounts directly to a standard ¾”, 1”, 1 ½” NPT or 1”, 1 ½”, 2”, 3”, 4”, 6” or 8” ANSI flange, probe style dependant. No external process seals, stilling wells, tubing, isolation valves or reflector targets shall be required.

The sensor assembly shall form an integral process seal rated for operation from full vacuum to 580 psig in product temperatures up to 302°F. It shall be possible to remove and reinstall the signal converter module without violating or compromising process vessel integrity. The signal converter modules shall be interchangeable and be capable of being installed on a sensor assembly without adjustment or matching of components.

Excessive coating or product build-up on the sensors shall not impede normal functioning of the device. Adjustment of the mechanical speed shall compensate for any effect of coating build-up.

One or two passive 4-20mA current outputs shall be provided as standard for continuous output directly proportional to the process level, distance or volume independent of the local display value. The output shall have “SMART” capability for remote control and interrogation and configuration upload/download by a remote handheld unit or personal computer.

The signal converter shall be equipped with an integral backlit LCD display with simple, clear alphanumeric text prompting and messaging. Start-up and configuration may be accomplished without the use of external devices and without opening of the signal converter housing.

The operating software shall employ measured value plausibility checking to ensure that the output display signal is within anticipated norms. A volume strapping table shall be included as standard.

The unit shall not require FCC site approval for operation.

24hour/day, seven day/week service and technical support shall be available. An end user may stock a single spare converter in order to support multiple field units. On-site assistance and operator training shall be available.

The instrument shall be manufactured in an ISO 9001 approved facility.

The level gauge shall be AMETEK Drexelbrook Model DR7100 Series or equal.
