Work on/gain approval of tentative thesis statements and tentative outline in class via Google Doc

Block, 3/1-2 – Submit links to four sources for approval via Google Doc. Once these are approved, work

on annotated bibliography of these FOUR sources. The annotations should be as specific/complete as possible, indicating the credibility of your sources and the information you are planning to use from this source.

Friday, 3/3 – Annotated bibliography due by the end of class

Monday, 3/6 – Thesis statements and formal outline due by the end of class (reading/research completed

prior)

Week of 3/24 – IN CLASS --drafting/embedding quotes/citations in class.

Monday, 3/27-- Completed draft with sources used and cited correctly for Peer Review.

Friday, 3/31 -- FRIDAY – final draft submitted (paper copy to me in class and ) with copies of all outside sources.

Within the essay:

• Reference to minimum of 4 outside sources, plus text.

• Only one block quote (not over six lines) allowed

• At least two paraphrases and two summaries from source information

• Not more than two full sentences quoted beyond block quote—phrases that you find in your sources that are particularly apt should be smoothly incorporated into your own writing.

This needs to remain YOUR essay, not a patchwork of source information that you have sewn together. YOUR views and interpretations must be the primary focus of the essay.

Be sure that where the source information begins and ends is clearly signaled both with in-text comment and parenthetical citations. This requires more skill with online sources.
