RSP 102 Denied 7/24/07

The RSP Periodic Email Archive:

With somethings old, somethings new, somethings borrowed and sometimes blue!

Please realize that the focus of RSP was never intended to be a pension mess. When this is over and done with, I will direct this email and website in a lighter direction. I post almost every email that I receive, with last names removed unless granted permission. The editor does not always agree with contributors, but protects their right to share opinion We will share info that we think our community will find pertinent and enjoyable. Thank you for staying in touch and happy retirement!

The following are the RSP email archives that I still have, complete with grammar and mis-spelled SNAFU's! Caution, when reading archives keep in mind our world is a dynamic place and many bits of information become dated and are super-ceded by later updated info.

Dear Retired Delta Pilot,

Special ALERT!

I no sooner sent RSP 101 out when I received my USPS mail.  Sleazy PRIME SHARES out of NY somehow got our data base through the public record and is now contacting all of us to sell our claim.

DON'T GIVE PRIME SHARES THE TIME OF DAY!

The are certainly sleazy and offered me a whopping 2% on my claim in cash.  Bas#$%&^@!

When you see this PRIME SHARES letter pitch it in the round can and then be on the guard for other lowlife ambulance chasers!  Our group needs real and sound advice from firms with integrity and from advisors they can trust.  This company is a sham!

Here is such an email from a reader who got the same letter:

Mark,

FYI, today a got a letter from a company in NYC called PrimeShares World Markets, LLC. They are offering to buy my Delta BK claim of $301,986.83 for...ready ?...$4,907.29 !!

Is this a joke ?  And, aren't they a bit late with this offer ?

It's good for a laugh at least.

Bill

Yes, it is a joke and yes they are a whole lot late!

Fidelity Invitation:

On another note I also received a "one on one" invitation to sit down with a Fidelity advisor.  The invitation will have ALPA and Fidelity on it.  While I use Fidelity as a custodian for a few of my accounts, I believe you can do much better for investment and portfolio advice than with the boiler plate advisors at Fidelity.

UNITED STATES BANKRUPTCY JUDGE

As I read this no one will get an improved claim over what was already awarded by DAL's schedules.  Sorry but the Judge has

waved a majic wand and gave no objection its just time.

Forward from Dave Skjerven

Subject: Capt Bob Hartl's alternatives

For those of you that want to enjoy your retirement that Delta screwed up,  Capt Bob Hartl, Retire, has sent this suggestion so that one does not have to go back to flying.  If just thought I'd pass it along since you too could be interested in this.  DWS

Dave,

Here is a far better alternative than working for DB Avaiation.

Come to Thailand.  We are here and enjoying it.  Friends of ours are living in Chiang Rai in a new 3000 sq. ft. house on one acre for $200@ month.  They live for a total of about 500 USD a month.  They go home often and there are very good medical facilities now in Bangkok, Chiang Mei, and Koh Samui.  China is also cheap with expats living in towns like KunMing for under 500 USD @ month.  Why work at place like DB Aviation.

Would it be ok with you if I link to that page for them if they are unaware of your web site?
