Predictive Services Discussion:

A wet pattern will continue for the West Coast, with multiple rounds of precipitation expected through the weekend into early next week. Snow will spread over much of the Intermountain West, although rain is likely at lower elevations and farther south in the Southwest. Heavy snow and rain are possible in the mountains and valleys, respectively, west of the Divide in the Southwest late this weekend into early next week as well. Precipitation will continue into late next week from the Pacific Northwest into northern California, and near to below normal temperatures are likely for much of the West next week.

Dry and windy conditions are likely to result in moderate significant fire potential and locally critical fire weather conditions this weekend on portions of the southern High Plains into the Big Bend. Dry and breezy conditions may return mid to late next week as well to portions of west, central, and south Texas. Low relative humidity is expected for portions of the southeast Atlantic Coast and Florida Peninsula this weekend into early next week and locally gusty winds may accompany the dry conditions. Portions of the Mississippi, Tennessee, and Ohio Valleys are likely to receive heavy precipitation next week as below normal temperatures this weekend give way to above normal temperatures next week across much of the eastern US.
