POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT – DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AIDPOSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Executive Vice President for Operations and Administrative Services, this position directs, leads, and manages the overall student financial aid function of the college. This person must be the consummate team player with excellent communication and organization skills coupled with the ability to lead and encourage staff across all 8 campuses of Chattahoochee Technical College.MAJOR DUTIESAdministers and supervises the implementation of all financial aid policies, office procedures and funding programs.Plans, organizes and supervises the operational functions of the Financial Aid Office.Manages financial aid staff.Counsels students and parents regarding financial aid programs.Oversees the accountability for all financial aid rewards.Prepares and manages student cost-of-attendance budgets.Coordinates and maintains financial aid records.Participates in college committees as assigned.Prepares and analyzes operational reports and other data.Disseminates financial aid information to staff, students, and community organizations.Participates in state and federal program reviews and audits.Serves as Veterans Affairs Certifying Official.Performs other related duties as assigned.Involvement in community.KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITIONKnowledge of federal, state and institutional sources of financial aid.Knowledge of finance, accounting and management policies and procedures.Knowledge of institutional organization, policies, procedures, and administrative practices.Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations.Skill in the delegation of responsibility and authority.Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.Skill in decision making and problem solving.Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.Skill in oral and written communication.SUPERVISORY CONTROLSThe Executive Vice President for Operations and Administrative Services assigns work in terms of goals and objectives. Strict regulations and the need for accuracy contribute to the complexity of the position.The purpose of this position is to direct the student financial aid operations for the college. Success in this position ensures compliance with all relevant state and federal regulationsGUIDELINESGuidelines include State of Georgia scholarship and grant regulations, the Federal Student Aid Handbook, TCSG policies and procedures, and the college student handbook and catalog. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in applicationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Baccalaureate Degree required in a course of study related to the occupational field. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s Degree in a related fieldSALARY/BENEFITS: Salary to be determined.
