This position will serve as a finance resource for two Medtronic Foundations and Medtronic’s social business initiative. Furthermore, this position will manage the Medtronic Plc cost centers for these teams. This position will relate to both for-profit and non-for-profit finance.This position’s primary ownership is financial management including financial planning, reporting and forecasting. Additionally, the role will provide business partnering support for operational processes, compliance control and financial decision support for Medtronic social business initiative.Deliverables of this position will be to support the design, build and maintenance of the financial system supporting Medtronic Philanthropy and its evolving strategy. Furthermore, a deliverable will be the support of executing compliant processes in the management of grants and other contractual and investment vehicles. Finally, success in this role will require partnership thinking and a passion for delivering results.This position reports directly to the Philanthropy Senior Operations Program Manager.______________________________________________________________________POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Financial ManagementRecord transactional activity of Foundation entities and subsidiaries in SAP and other financial systemsPrepare and review monthly financials of Foundation entities and subsidiaries.Prepare all relevant account reconciliations and ensure appropriate fiscal controls are maintained throughout the financial system.Prepare management reporting comparing actual versus budgeted spend for the Philanthropy team and board management. Ensure implementation of the financial modeling and budgetary processes for the annual budget. Support the preparation of a flexible long-range outlook financial model that supports the Philanthropy strategic plan.Drive the quarterly forecasting processes including the booking of quarter-end accruals.Work with Corporate Treasury and Corporate Tax partners to support banking and tax implications to financial statement preparation. Support the implementation and functional testing of accounting architecture to ensure quality set-up of accounting structure, project-based structure, etc.Business Partnering:Be the key interface for financial analysis and business modeling for the social business initiative. Support the operational and compliance needs of Program Related Investments (PRIs) made within the foundation supporting social business strategy. Support initiatives for executing enterprise’s product donation strategy including keeping database on medical missions support.Support the development and maintenance of various financial models that report on the impact of partner’s programs. Coordinate and support special, ad-hoc projects as needed, which may include but not limited to: board presentation support, pan-Medtronic philanthropy financial alignment, & external contract support. ______________________________________________________________________BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME: EDUCATION REQUIRED: B.S. or B.A. in Finance or AccountingYEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 4+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experienceSPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Experience with MS OfficeExperience with Essbase/Hyperion, SAP/BW.Knowledge of accounting concepts, financial planning and reportingDemonstrated analytical skills, including the advanced excel modeling skills Strong interpersonal communication and organization skillsStrong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative and self-motivation in understanding business needs.High integrity, ethics________________________________________________________________DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MBA, CMA preferred.Experience and knowledge with fund accounting or non-profit finance.Experience with Program Related Investments, Public Benefit CorporationsGood judgment and problem solving skills on a variety of complex problemsProven business partnering skillsAbility to interface in a team environment with various levels of managementDevelops solutions to a variety of complex problems.Experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise explanation.Flexible, friendly, team-oriented disposition that thrives in a fast-paced environment.______________________________________________________________________PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Physical capabilities to perform the jobThe physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
