Ostrander, MHSA, VP of Finance & Chief Financial Officer, Nathan Littauer Hospital.Mike has over 24 years of experience in healthcare finance and over 15 years of leadership experience. He has held positions at: Empire BlueCross/BlueShield, St Peters Hospital, Ellis Hospital, Glens Falls Hospital, and has been with Nathan Littauer since December of 2012. He has a B.S. degree from Siena and an MS degree in healthcare administration from Russell Sage. Mike has been a member of HFMA for 17 years and is currently on our chapter program committee. James M. Gavin, CPA, Adjunct Professor at Union Graduate CollegeJim has 36 years experience in the Healthcare Industry. During his career, Jim has served as an auditing and management consultant for Ernst & Whinney, Director of Finance at St. Mary’s Hospital of Troy and an Adjunct Professor teaching Healthcare Finance at Union Graduate College. The main part of his Healthcare was spent as CFO at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Saratoga Hospital and St. Peter’s Health Care Services. Jim has a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Clarkson University and a Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Albany. Dr. Dean Limeri, MD, Medical Director for Primary Care, Ellis Medicine Dr. Limeri has been practicing medicine for 27 years, and has been in Schenectady the entire time. He is board certified in both primary care and pediatrics. He authored the book “Medicine Is A Team Sport: How to Become a Player in Your Own Healthcare”. Dr. Limeri received a BS degree in biology from RPI, an MS degree in physiology from Georgetown, and his medical degree from Albany Medical College. Rick White, FHFMA, Director of Payer Contracting, St. Mary’s of AmsterdamRick has 35 years of healthcare experience, 29 of these being at Glens Falls hospital. During his career, Rick has held multiple positions in accounting, reimbursement, and payer relations. He joined St. Mary’s this year and has had an immediate impact on their managed care profitability. Rick has bachelor’s degree in accounting from Siena, is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and has earned a Fellowship from HFMA. Rick has been a key member to the HFMA NENY Chapter and has held multiple positions at the chapter and regional level. Mollie Kennedy, MBA, Practice Director, Revenue Cycle Consulting Services, SiemensWith more than 12 years in the healthcare industry, Mollie has experience in all facets of the revenue cycle, quality improvement, metrics and reimbursement analysis, contract and denial management, and contract negotiations. Prior to joining Siemens in February 2012, Mollie was the Director of Revenue Cycle and Executive Sponsor a large-scale implementation of Soarian Financials at Ellis Medicine in Schenectady, NY. Mollie’s holds a B.S. in Health Policy and Administration from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA., and an MBA from The College of Saint Rose.
