POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Student Financial Aid Coordinator

• This is a full-time position.

• Employment is with Chattahoochee Technical College and not with an individual campus. All employees are subject to work relocation based on college needs.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Director of Financial Aid and in close communication with the Student Financial Services Unit as a whole, the Financial Aid Coordinator (1) manages a variety of daily procedures associated with Financial Aid operations and is the initial point of contact for subordinate personnel. (2) maintains current knowledge of student financial assistance programs and laws governing such, (3) office management and supervision of subordinate staff at his or her respective campuses. (4) Coordinates the state financial aid programs available to enrolled students including all HOPE Programs, Dual Enrollment and CHECS. (5) is responsible for determining eligibility for CTC’s Commercial Truck Driving Program, Transient Students and HOPE-Georgia Residency Petitioners. (6) will provide prompt communication to students regarding the status of HOPE eligibility/changes such as: HOPE Loss/Cap/GPA. Candidate should be a self-starter and able to effectively work in fast-paced, team environment while maintaining a very high level of customer service. The chosen applicant will supervise selected functional areas within the unit. The applicant will also complete other duties as assigned by the Director. This individual will be housed primarily at the North Metro Campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Baccalaureate Degree required in a course of study related to the occupational field.

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’ experience in Banner processing.

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

(In addition to the minimum qualifications shown with the Job Description)

• Previous supervisory experience in a financial aid office at an institution of higher education

• Knowledge of federal aid program requirements and federal reconciliation procedures

• Experience with federal and state databases including, but not limited to, COD, NSLDS, CPS, and SURFER

• Must be familiar with the State HOPE Programs, CHECS and Dual Enrollment

SALARY/BENEFITS

• Salary is $41,566.16 annually.

• Benefits include paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
