Introduction

Present the following information in an interesting way to the audience to teach them about whether to purchase or lease their first car:

First thing, introduce yourself, give your audience your background on this subject and build some credibility!

Explain what the difference between purchasing and financing a car is:

? Purchasing a car - is a method of buying a new or used car that involves paying for the entire value of the car.

? Leasing a car ? is a method of obtaining a new or used car that involves paying periodic payments for the exclusive use of the car for a term instead of paying for the whole value of the vehicle.

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each option

Purchasing

Advantages: ? No monthly/ interest payments ? Ownership ? You can modify the car ? Cheaper insurance

Leasing

Advantages: ? Lower down payment ? Be able to have the car for a limited time if you can't afford it ? If the car is under warranty, will be covered ? Once the lease is up, there is an option to trade for a newer model

Disadvantages: ? Drive a less prestigious vehicle ? No warranty if it's used car depending on the kilometers and year ? Will be stuck with older car unless you sell it ? The car value depreciates as soon as it is bought

Disadvantages: ? You don't own the car at the end of the lease ? If you want to keep the car, it is going to cost more ? If you want to return the car before the leasing is over, required to pay the termination fee ? Extra charges will be applied if car is over used (if you exceed kilometer)
