EVENTS:

? Welcome Table o Members from Allegheny General Hospital ? Suburban Campus will be on hand to provide free Welcome Bags and T-shirts.

? AGH ? Suburban Campus Urgent Care Center o Hosted by AGH board certified physicians who will be on hand to answer your questions about the new AGH-Suburban Campus Urgent Care Center.

? AGH ? Suburban Campus Rehabilitation Services o AGH ? SC professional therapists will be on hand to inspect canes and walkers for safety. New tips provided to those identified as needing replaced. Therapists will provide instruction on proper height adjustment for canes and walkers.

? AGH Glitterbug o Hosted by Allegheny General Hospital pediatricians and staff. This interactive booth will demonstrate the importance of hand washing. Participants will be able to view "what is really on their hands" under a special light.

? "Driving Under the Influence Simulation" o Experience the feeling of being under the influence of alcohol as members of the Bellevue PD use special equipment to mimic real feelings of intoxication. Realize the effects alcohol has on your motor skills. This can be fun to watch and participate but remember it is a serious concern and meant to be a learning experience.

? Bellevue "Neighborhood Watch" Kick Off Campaign o Crime Prevention Officers from the Bellevue Police Department & Bellevue residents will be on hand to provide details about Neighborhood Watch and how we are organizing community groups throughout Bellevue.

? "Bicycle Safety" o Professionals from the AGH Department of Emergency Medicine will fit your child for a free bicycle helmet ? courtesy of Department of Emergency Medicine and Think First. o Member s of the Bellevue Police Department bicycle unit will inspect bicycles and offer safety tips for children.

? "Gun Safety" o Free Gun Locks will be on hand and questions about gun safety answered.

? Allegheny General Hospital Life Flight Helicopter o Noon-4:00pm. AGH Life Flight helicopter will land in Bayne Park at noon, Life Flight crew will be available to answer questions from noon-4:00. In the event the helicopter is called out on an emergency, crew may have to leave early.

? Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General

o Representatives from the Attorney General's office will be on hand to provide information on consumer protection, identity theft and cyber security. Information will be targeted for all age groups include teens on how to protect themselves in the Cyber World. This information will also be useful to anyone who has been a victim of any type of fraud.

? Pharmacy o Bring your medications for identification or review. Allegheny General Hospital staff will be on hand to help organize pill boxes, provide counseling or medication ID, or to discuss possible interactions between medications, including herbal supplements. Our Diabetes educator will also be on hand to answer questions.

? Burn Prevention o Hosted by Sandy Smith, BSN, RN-BC West Penn Burn Center Learn what you can do to prevent burns. Appropriate for all age levels.

? Allegheny General Hospital Sports Medicine o Timed agility tests ? Door Prizes

? Allegheny General Hospital Stroke Center o AGH professionals will provide Stroke Risk Assessments to any interested adult.

? EMS & Rescue Demonstrations o Members of the Northwest Emergency Medical Service will be on hand to display, demonstrate and answer questions about the service they provide. Possible confined space rescue demonstration. o Come and see various EMS vehicles include a specialized rescue unit.

? Car Seat Safety o Lt. Jack Davin, a certified car seat expert of the Bellevue Fire Department will be on hand to register anyone interested in having their car seat installation inspected. Anyone registering will be eligible to enter a raffle to win a brand new car seat.

? Fire Department Vehicles and Equipment o Come and see Fire Trucks and equipment on display. o Kids can squirt a real fire hose to knock down the flames in a kid's fire simulator. o Remote controlled fire vehicle............ "Sparky the Fire Dog" o Demonstrations

? Bellevue Fire Department ? Home Fire Safety Program o Fire Marshall's will be on hand to provide information and answer questions concerning home fire safety

? FOOD & REFRESMENTS o The Bellevue Volunteer Fire Company will be selling hot foods and refreshments. All proceeds will benefit the Volunteer Company.

LECTURES

? Ask The Doctor Booth & Sports Trivia for Kids with Prizes (12:30 ? 1:30 in gazebo) o Mark J Sangimino, MD, AGH Pediatric Surgeon, will host an Ask The Doctor booth and will be on hand from 12:30-1:30pm to answer your pediatric orthopedic and sports safety questions for children ages up to 18. o Compete for prizes as you test your knowledge of sports trivia and sports safety. Children ages toddler ? age 18 welcome.

? Weather Safety with Mr. Dennis Bowman (1:00pm in Library) o Mr. Bowman will demonstrate and explain dangerous weather conditions, including a tornado machine simulator. He will explain what conditions are serious and how to take protective measures.

? AGH Lecture ? "H20 ? The Nutritional Secret Weapon" (2:00 pm in Library) o Provided by Matthew Coppola, MD, Department of Internal Medicine, AGH. Can something as simple as drinking more water help improve your overall health? Come and find out!

Special Event:

Drug Enforcement Administration ? "National Take Back Initiative"

The Avalon and Bellevue Police Departments will participate in DEA National Take Back Initiative. The Health and Safety Day will be used as a DEA collection point where anyone can surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
