OPENING & RESTORING ARCHIVED ITEMS IN OUTLOOK 2010/2013

With the implementation of Office 365, the mailbox space has increased to 50 gigabytes. The increase in storage space should result in users no longer having to archive emails.

Restoring archived items will allow you to access them on the web.

Note: Outlook 2010 may have different colors or icons, but the steps are the same.

Opening Archived Items in Outlook

These items will only appear on the desktop version of Outlook. They will not be viewable online.

Step 1. Open Outlook and navigate to the File menu

Step 2. Click the Open & Export option from the list

Step 3. Click on Open Outlook Data File

Step 4. Navigate to where the archive file (.pst) is saved

Step 5. Click on the archive file (.pst) and select the Open button

Congratulations you have now opened all archived items in Outlook 2010/2013.

*Note: If you have multiple archives you will need to open each one.

Closing Archived Items in Outlook Step 1. Right click the Archives folder

Step 2. Select Close "Archives"

Congratulations you have now closed all archived items in Outlook 2010/2013. *Note: If you have multiple archives you will

need to close each one.

Restoring Archived Items in Outlook

These items will appear on the desktop and online versions of Outlook. The restored items will use your 50gb of storage space. Note: Archived items must be closed before restoring.

Step 1. Open Outlook and navigate to the File menu

Step 2. Click the Open * Export option from the list

Step 3. Click on Import/Export

Step 4. Select Open from another program or file

Step 5. Click Outlook Data File (.pst)

Step 6. Click Browse
