“With reincarnation man is a dignified, immortal being, evolving towards a glorious end; without it, he is a tossing straw on the stream of chance circumstances, irresponsible for his character, for his actions, for his destiny…The Ancient Wisdom teaches, indeed, that the soul progresses through many worlds, but it also teaches he is born in each of these worlds over and over again, until he has completed the evolution possible in that world…Truly, further evolution lies before us in other worlds, but…they are not open to us until we have learned and mastered the lessons our own world has to teach.”

THE REINCARNATION OF THE SOUL

500 BCE 300 BCE 30 CE 700 CE 1600 CE 1951 CE

“(Pythagoras) was accustomed to speak of himself in this manner; that he had formerly been Aethalides…At a subsequent period, he was reborn as Euphorbus, and was wounded by Menelaus at the siege of Troy, and so died. In that life he used to say that he had formerly been Aethalides; and that he had received as a gift from Mercury (God of Wisdom) the memory of his soul’s transmigrations…also the gift of recollecting what his own souls and the souls of others had experienced between death and rebirth.”

- Life of Pythagoras (582-507 B.C.), Diogenes Laertius

“What Pythagoras wished to indicate by all these particulars was that he knew the former lives he had lived, which enabled him to begin providential attention to others and remind them of their former existences.”

A Course in Miracles – on Reincarnation

Teacher’s Manual – Question #24

24. IS REINCARNATION SO?

M-24.1. In the ultimate sense, reincarnation is impossible. 2 There is no past or future, and the idea of birth into a body has no meaning either once or many times. 3 Reincarnation cannot, then, be true in any real sense. 4 Our only question should be, "Is the concept helpful?" 5 And that depends, of course, on what it is used for. 6 If it is used to strengthen the recognition of the eternal nature of life, it is helpful indeed. 7 Is any other question about it really useful in lighting up the way? 8 Like many other beliefs, it can be bitterly misused. 9 At least, such misuse offers preoccupation and perhaps pride in the past. 10 At worst, it induces inertia in the present. 11 In between, many kinds of folly are possible.

M-24.2. Reincarnation would not, under any circumstances, be the problem to be dealt with now. 2 If it were responsible for some of the difficulties the individual faces now, his task would still be only to escape from them now. 3 If he is laying the groundwork for a future life, he can still work out his salvation only now. 4 To some, there may be comfort in the concept, and if it heartens them its value is self-evident. 5 It is certain, however, that the way to salvation can be found by those who believe in reincarnation and by those who do not. 6 The idea cannot, therefore, be regarded as essential to the curriculum. 7 There is always some risk in seeing the present in terms of the past. 8 There is always some good in any thought which strengthens the idea that life and the body are not the same.

M-24.3. For our purposes, it would not be helpful to take any definite stand on reincarnation. 2 A teacher of God should be as helpful to those who believe in it as to those who do not. 3 If a definite stand were required of him, it would merely limit his usefulness, as well as his own decision making. 4 Our course is not concerned with any concept that is not acceptable to anyone, regardless of his formal beliefs. 5 His ego will be enough for him to cope with, and it is not the part of wisdom to add sectarian controversies to his burdens. 6 Nor would there be an advantage in his premature acceptance of the course merely because it advocates a long-held belief of his own.

M-24.4. It cannot be too strongly emphasized that this course aims at a complete reversal of thought. 2 When this is finally accomplished, issues such as the validity of reincarnation become meaningless. 3 Until then, they are likely to be merely controversial. 4 The teacher of God is, therefore, wise to step away from all such questions, for he has much to teach and learn apart from them. 5 He should both learn and teach that theoretical issues but waste time, draining it away from its appointed purpose. 6 If there are aspects to any concept or belief that will be helpful, he will be told about it. 7 He will also be told how to use it. 8 What more need he know?

M-24.5. Does this mean that the teacher of God should not believe in reincarnation himself, or discuss it with others who do? 2 The answer is, certainly not! 3 If he does believe in reincarnation, it would be a mistake for him to renounce the belief unless his internal Teacher so advised. 4 And this is most unlikely. 5 He might be advised that he is misusing the belief in some way that is detrimental to his pupil's advance or his own. 6 Reinterpretation would then be recommended, because it is necessary. 7 All that must be recognized, however, is that birth was not the beginning, and death is not the end. 8 Yet even this much is not required of the beginner. 9 He need merely accept the idea that what he knows is not necessarily all there is to learn. 10 His journey has begun.

M-24.6. The emphasis of this course always remains the same;–it is at this moment that complete salvation is offered you, and it is at this moment that you can accept it. 2 This is still your one responsibility. 3 Atonement might be equated with total escape from the past and total lack of interest in the future. 4 Heaven is here. 5 There is nowhere else. 6 Heaven is now. 7 There is no other time. 8 No teaching that does not lead to this is of concern to God's teachers. 9 All beliefs will point to this if properly interpreted. 10 In this sense, it can be said that their truth lies in their usefulness. 11 All beliefs that lead to progress should be honored. 12 This is the sole criterion this course requires. 13 No more than this is necessary.

LIFE BETWEEN LIVES

This is done in the sense of using hypnosis to explore the LBL state and not with the intention of viewing or healing past-lives. LBL for the sake of LBL.

Transition into LBL

1. Recommended to transition from a past-life. Do this because:

a. Moving backward from the present life into the inter-life can cause confusion and disorientation. The soul is used to moving from the death scene into the spirit world.

b. The client will miss the beautiful experience of moving from a body into the spirit world.

c. Reviewing a former life allows more time for “memory warm-up” and helps to deepen the trance state and one’s inner sensory experience.

2. Bridge from the death scene

- You may need to desensitize the trauma of the death scene to help the client to move on. However, in LBL work often you do not have to do this and can move right into the LBL state.

3. Questions from Newton:

a. Where are you now in relation to your body?

b. Is anyone in the room (or near you body if outside)?

c. (If the answer is yes) Tell me about this person (or persons) near you. Who are they?

d. What do you see around you? (or What are you aware of?)

e. What are you feeling?

f. What is happening now? Then what happens? What else is happening that you haven’t told me about yet?

g. How do you feel about your death?

4. Keep them near their body and give them time to acclimate to being in spirit. While doing this review the past-life briefly before moving on.

5. Occasionally a client will report an entity while in the out-of-body state. If necessary, deal with this before moving on.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SOUL DEPARTURE

Newton, Page 72

“You are now fully in a soul state, directly connected to the highest consciousness of your mind, which is like a vast computer holding all of the stored knowledge of your entire existence. As an eternal, timeless being, you will remember incredible details about your immortal life between lives, and thus you will be able to respond to my questions about your life as a soul quite easily.

We are now going to a place of expanded awareness as you move upward into the loving realm of an all-knowing spiritual power. Even though you are only at the gateway to this beautiful realm, your soul can feel the joy of being released. Everything will become very familiar to you as we progress further because this peaceful realm embodies an all-knowing acceptance.

You are now going to move away from your body in perfect comfort. Soon you will receive divine help in releasing all negative energy from your physical life. You will be entering your eternal home where we can talk about your immortal life and all the lives you have lived before with objectivity and understanding because this is a spiritual realm of planning and harmony.”

QUESTIONS AT THE TIME OF SOUL DEPARTURE

See Page 75 of Newton

Three Types of Questions

1. The open-ended question: “Give me your first impression of where you are in relation to your surroundings.”

2. The elaboration question: “How do you feel about all of this? Are you happy or sad? Are you excited, or unsure of how you feel? What does this mean to you? What is it you are trying to tell me? Help me to understand what you are seeing and feeling.”

3. Repeating and summarizing questions: “Now that you have told me so-and-so, let me review what you have said. Have I got it right? Is there anything you wish to add?”

Overcoming Blocking and Guide Blocking

Page 83 and 85 Newton

Station Stops for the Incoming Soul

Page 105, Newton

Three Significant Stages:

1. The gateway, when initial contact is made with another spirit.

2. Orientation, where the soul is taken to a space for debriefing by a guide.

3. A final stop, where the soul is returned to their own cluster group.

Many variations exist…

1. Skipping stages one and/or two

2. Classroom situation or library for study

3. Periods of solitude and quiet time for reflection

4. A place of healing and energy restoration

Leaving the body and into the Inter-Life

Page 92 Newton

Leaving the body:

1. As you find yourself moving higher and higher and further and further away from Earth, does the space around you get lighter or darker?

Movement into the Inter-Life:

2. You have been this way before. Just keep moving and accept the fact that a loving power is taking you to a safe place.

Movement into the next event:

3. Tell me when you can see far into the distance beyond your immediate surroundings.

Silence and then Ideomotor Questioning:

4. Take your time. Move your fingers of your right hand when you can see into the distance.

Then:

5. Do you see a large globe of light near you, or do you see points of light off into the distance?

First Contact with Spirit:

6. How many lights do you see? Count them.

7. Are they bunched together or spread out?

8. Does one seem larger than the rest?

9. Do you need to move to the right, continue straight ahead, or move left to intersect with this light (or lights)?

10. Float (right, left, or straight ahead) toward the light while the light floats toward you.

11. As the light comes close to you, and you move close to it, I want to know if it is bright or dim, and what colors you see.

12. Please describe the shape and appearance of the light that has come to meet you.

13. Does this light drift close to you, as if taking you by the hand, or does it seem to envelop you with loving energy?

Interaction with Welcoming Spirits

Page 99 Newton

1. Do you have any thoughts about this entity who has come to meet you that we have not discussed?

2. Do you have a sense that the being in front of you appears as a male or a female?

3. Can you see any facial features?

4. How about hair color and length? Eye color?

5. Does this being have a full-body outline that looks like anyone you know?

6. I realize no earthly speech sounds exist in this place, but are you receiving any telepathic communications we should talk about, either with words or by visual pictures placed in your mind?

7. What is the name of your spirit guide?

8. What are you being told?

9. How does your guide feel about your performance in the last life?

10. What is happening now?

11. Do you feel you are ready to be taken somewhere?

12. Where are you being taken next?

With guides, consider:

1. Past-Life reviews

2. Achievements and disappointments

3. Comparison of lifetimes

4. The role of your guide

5. Your guide’s opinion of your progress

6. Advice being given

7. Other relevant information being exchanged

***When it occurs spontaneously

1. Low energy level

2. Character shifts or mood swings

3. Inner voice(s) speaking to you

4. Abuse of drugs, including alcohol

5. Impulsive behavior

6. Memory problems

7. Poor concentration

8. Sudden onset of anxiety or depression

9. Sudden onset of physical problems with no obvious cause

10. Emotional and/or physical reactions to reading The Unquiet Dead [or when discussing this topic]

ENTITY ATTACHMENT

Summary of General Points to Cover During Processing

To the possessing entity

1. You are not (possessed’s name)

2. Your body is dead

3. You joined (possessed’s name)

4. You are harming yourself and (possessed’s name)

5. Your loved ones are here

6. You will be in a perfect body

7. There is no such thing as hell

Protecting Yourself from Entities

For the professional and to teach to your clients

1. White Light Technique (twice daily)

“Using your creative imagination, imagine that you have a miniature sun, just like the sun in our solar system, deep in your solar plexus. This sun is radiating through every atom and cell of your being. It fills you with light to the tips of your fingers, the top of your head, and the soles of your feet. It shines through you and beyond you an arm’s length in every direction – above your head, below your feet, out to the sides, creating an aura – a brilliant dazzling, radiant White Light that completely surrounds and protects you from any negativity or harm.”

2. Maintain a positive attitude

3. Abstain from drugs and alcohol

4. Use the White Light Technique before surgery and during hospitalization

5. Do a depossession immediately after surgery or hospitalization.

6. Pray and ask for spiritual help

For the Professional

1. Understand the obvious caution in bringing the theme up to a client – better to let it come up on its own

2. Prepare yourself beforehand if possible

3. White Light Technique

4. Verbally or mentally call in guides – Affirm protection and ask for protection

5. Remain peaceful and loving – do not choose fear or anger – “Love needs no defense”

6. Do not buy into the illusion of evil – these beings are confused, hurting, scared and lost

7. Heal the possessing entity

8. Question the entity

a. Name

b. When did you die?

c. Where did you come from?

d. Why did you choose (client’s name)?

e. Why are you here?

2. Treat the “alien” as you would anyone else in a Gestalt

3. EMT

4. Explore secondary gains

5. Explore loss of individuality

6. Explore loss of free will

7. Explore blame and victim themes

LUCID DREAMING

[pic]

Hypnos and Thanatos,"Sleep and His Half-Brother Death"

by John William Waterhouse

Defined:

A lucid dream is a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress. During lucid dreams, it is possible to exert conscious control over the dream characters and environment, as well as to perform otherwise physically impossible feats. Lucid dreams are known to be extremely real and vivid for those who have experienced them.

Types:

1. Dream-Initiated Lucid Dream (DILD) starts as a normal dream, and the dreamer eventually concludes that he or she is dreaming.

2. Wake-Initiated Lucid Dream (WILD) occurs when the dreamer goes from a normal waking state directly into a dream state with no apparent lapse in consciousness.

3. Hypnotically-Initiated Lucid Dream (HILD) occurs through the use of hypnotic programming where the dreamer becomes lucid during a dream already in progress or goes directly into a dream after falling asleep after hypnotic programming.

Tips:

1. Work to remember at least one dream per night

2. Get plenty of sleep – dream periods get longer and closer together with more sleep

3. Research shows that the first dream of the night is the shortest, about 10 minutes in length

4. Dream periods can be 45 minutes to an hour long during a full night’s sleep

5. We all dream every night - about one dream period every 90 minutes

6. People who say they never dream simply never remember their dreams

7. There may be more than one dream during a REM period

8. Keep a dream journal. Keep the journal by your bed and record every dream you remember, no matter how fragmentary.

9. Start by writing down all your dreams, not just the complete, coherent, or interesting ones--even if all you remember is a face or a room, write it down.

10. Remain still in the position from which you awaken and immediately reflect on the night’s dreams. Focus on moods, feelings, fragments of images, and work to gain recall from them.

11. To remind yourself of your intentions and get yourself into the spirit of your dreams, read through your dream journal at bedtime.

Hypnotic Sleep Programming:

1. “I recognize my dreams when they are happening.”

2. “I become lucid in my dreams”

3. “I remember my dreams”

4. “I have conscious control over what I dream.”

5. “I have interesting and meaningful dreams”

REMOTE VIEWING AND ASTRAL PROJECTION

REMOTE VIEWING

Experiment

Six Gainesville area locations have been sealed in envelopes.

Envelopes are shuffled and then numbered.

Only the instructor knows the contents of the envelopes, but does not know which numbered envelope contains which location.

The instructor shall not share, and has not shared, with anyone the contents of the envelopes

A die is rolled to pick which envelope shall be selected.

This envelope is given to a randomly selected student who leaves the building with this envelope still closed.

This person drives away for a few blocks from the school and then opens the envelope which instructs him/her as to which location to go to.

After a fifteen minute class break, the class resumes with the remote viewing session.

The volunteer drives to this location and spends 15 minutes there, while the class works to receive and draw impressions based upon what the volunteer is seeing.

The volunteer takes photos of the location and brings them back to the class.

The volunteer then returns and shows the class the pictures of the location and describes the scene.

Participants are welcome to visit the location to compare their impressions/drawings to the actual location.
