The Board entered into closed session under Texas Government Code Section 551.071, 551.072 and 551.074 at 6:14 p.m. and reconvened at 6:52 p.m. for action related to the items discussed.Motion by Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mr. Darnell, to approve the November 10, 2014 minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously.President Linda Hinders reported the board training credit to date. All members have met or exceeded the required training for this year. President Linda Hinders reported board attendance for 2014. President Linda Hinders distributed Framework for Governance Leadership to all board members. Mr. Wartes shared enrollment for today as 9400.Mr. Wartes announced that school will release early on Tuesday, December 23. December 24-January 2 will be the CISD Christmas break. Board Meeting Dates include:January 12January 19February 9March 9April 13May 18Mr. Wartes addressed the board as he read his letter of resignation. He is retiring from education effective the end of August 2015. President Hinders indicated that the process of searching for a new superintendent would begin at the January 12 board meeting with search firm presentations. Marc Hamil shared Proclamation 2015 presentation. Debbie Boyer shared a program update for the Gifted and Talented program. Motion by Mr. Spradlin, seconded by Mr. Darnell to approve the 2015-16 school year as presented. Motion carried unanimously.Motion by Mrs. Wiegand, seconded by Mrs. Girard to approve the monthly financials for October 2014 as presented. Motion carried unanimously.Motion by Mr. Murphy, seconded by Mr. Spradlin to accept the board growth and facilities committee’s recommendation to adjust elementary boundaries as presented. Motion carried unanimously.Motion by Mrs. Wiegand, seconded by Mrs. Girard to accept the following donations with gratitude in accordance with board policy:$800 from Home Team Marketing Farmers Insurance Group for CHS football From Canyon Eagle Booster Club $1800 for CHS boys soccer$3000 for CHS tennis $500 from Happy State Bank and $1000 from Education Credit Union for Hillside Elementary literacy closet$3792.42 from Westover Park Jr High PTA for Tardy Software calculator for WPJH$30 from Sandra and David Wall and $2000 from Robin Weir for CHS ASL Honor Society$3000 from Panhandle Restaurant Association for Culinary Arts program$250 from Sundown Lane PTA for “Hawk Bucks”$2796.51 in book fair proceeds from Crestview PTA for Crestview library$1000 from First American Title Insurance Company for CHS All School MusicalMotion carried unanimously.Motion by Mrs. Wiegand, seconded by Mr. Cobb to accept the administrative recommendation to employ Carissa Wingate, Kelsey Parker, and Tracy Shepherd for the 2014-15 school year, with compensation as determined by local salary schedule and subject to assignment by the superintendent. Motion carried unanimously.There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:09 p.m.MINUTES APPROVEDPRESIDENT___________________________ SECRETARY______________________Boundaries as of 2015-2016?Boundary Changes Link (see attached map)Boundary adjustments have been approved at the following campuses to make room for growth in the City View Elementary area, Hillside Elementary area and Crestview Elementary area.Section 1: City View to Gene Howe adjustment The new boundary line has been moved to the northwest portion of the current City View attendance boundary to Gene Howe Elementary.? The area encompasses almost a full section, the north line is 58th Ave. (Hillside Road), south line is Farmers Ave, west line is Western St. and east line is Georgia St.? Gene Howe – City View Changes Link (see attached map)Section 2: Hillside to Lakeview adjustmentThe new boundary line has moved a portion of Hillside Elementary attendance area to Lakeview Elementary.? This area is from FM 2219 to 1 mile north, starting at Soncy Road (VFW road) and extending west to the district boundary line.? The new line would be McCormick Road, if it extended continuously all the way to the district boundary line.? This excludes the current Wildflower housing addition, which extends from McCormick to a quarter mile south on Soncy to 1 mile west. The current Wildflower addition will remain in Hillside Elementary attendance area.Section 3: Crestview to Lakeview adjustmentThe new boundary line has moved a portion of Crestview Elementary attendance area to Lakeview Elementary.? This area is from FM 2219 to 1 mile south, starting at Interstate 27 and extending west to the district boundary line.? The new line would be Rockwell Road, if it extended continuously all the way to the district boundary line. Section 4: Crestview to Reeves-Hinger adjustmentThe boundary line has moved a portion of the Crestview Elementary area to Reeves-Hinger Elementary.? This includes all of the area west of Dowell Road and north of Hwy 60 to 1 mile south of FM 2219 (Rockwell Road).? The north boundary lineis the Lakeview Elementary line as described in Section 3.The boundary line adjustments are only for K-4th grade. There are no boundary changes for 5-12th grade. Students Impacted: The boundary adjustments will not impact students who resided in the 2014-15 attendance boundary and attended the campus during that school year. These students will be "grandfathered" into their campus of attendance through completion of 4th grade.?Priority Levels When Determining Approval of a Transfer into Crestview and City View Elementary Campuses?Crestview and City View will be closed to transfer requests except in the following circumstances, by priority level.A Crestview and City View employee's request to transfer his/her child to the campus. Kindergarten sibling request to a student grandfathered into the campus. A student that attended the campus during the 2014-15 school year on an approved transfer District employee requests to transfer into the campus. Kindergarten sibling of a student that attended the campus during the previous school year on an approved transfer.*Approval for all above transfer requests will be based on available space within the requested grade level as determined by the administration.*Grandfathered Student: a student that resided in the campus attendance boundary and has not moved outside the attendance boundary. The student attended the campus in the 2014-15 school year. ................
