Jan 28, 1897 – Prof. J. J. D. Medley, principal of the public school of Bluefield, died yesterday at 10 a.m. of pneumonia at his home on Tazewell Street. Mr. Medley was a devoted church member, belonging to the First Baptist Church of this city. He was a member of several organizations and was secretary of the Masonic Lodge of this city. ................
