Let’s get started on day 2! Today we will be starting with literacy tasks, then building on our maths and number of the day, finally we have some more topic work – learning all about Scotland. Spelling – We have been looking at adding prefixes to root words. Today we will be looking at dis- and in- both meaning the opposite. Using the first 5 words on the list, complete one spelling challenge from the Spelling Menu. Mrs Casserly’s group – on the spelling grid on the website, here a list of the words you were practicing. Can you complete a task from the Spelling Menu with 5 of your words? Using the Happy New Year box on the Literacy grid, can you complete the task by reading the text and answering the questions. Could you tell an adult what you have fond out? Have a chat with an adult about the countries you see. Are there any differences in sizes or shapes? Carefully sketch the outline of the shape of Scotland. Remember to use the pencil lightly so that if you need to you can rub it out easier. You can go over the sketch in pen after if you like. Using the Google Maps, can you mark on your maps where Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness are? Device to access Google Maps or an Atlas.
